Check it out:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=UDUovmPt8tk
Quality is really low due to youtube encoding. I will post a link to the full file soon on arosworld.org.
The video is accelerated on purpose to keep up with the music beat. :pint:

Thats pretty good man!
Not sure that i get why it needed to be speed up but was nice, like all the cut screens with the wallpapers!!
Cool knowing that somebody has tried my XP themes too!!!

Theme from GODS! Woooooooooo!
:banana:

Coool!

Looks great! Is that AROS Max, something else, or just your own installation? In other words can I download an iso and get anything close to that?
-
That's nice and all, nad it was good to see apps and everything on AROS, but what was it suppose to demonstrate? I couldn't tell what half the stuff they were doing was... perhaps it's the crappy quality on YouTube.
-
@mihcael
I wanted to match the video time with the music and squeeze all the themes and backgrounds in it but it came a little too fast. I am already working on another one where the speed is normal.
@Merc
It is not AROS Max. It is just my own installation with all the themes from AROS. I don't know how to make an ISO from an already installed OS but maybe the AROS devs can show me how.
-
Well I have the same issue I've always had with a AROS, on 3 different PC's.. it just hangs after the Grub screen with the mouse pointer stuck in the top left corner :( Ever so often the keyboard LEDs all blink and nothing else happens.
Maybe I should be running it inside of Linux instead...
-
@iMacAmiga
It's supposed to demonstrate all the themes, backgrounds and apps like lunapaint, Htracker, Wookiechat, Vice, etc. but the quality really degrades on youtube.

@Merc
Try it with an old PC if you haven't already. You can also use VMware Server or QEMU with the accelerator. It works very well under QEMU, just the network part gets really tricky.

Struck out on both of those already :( I'm installing Linux inside of VirtualPC now, maybe I can get the hosted version to work.
I'm running an Asus A7N8X which is on the working hardware list.. so I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Maybe last night's build is just broken.
-
@Merc
I think it is broken the image from last night 11/20/07. I tried it too and it gets stuck as well and under VMware. I had to install AROS from an earlier version.
-
Ahh. I'll go see if I can find an older one, thanks!
EDIT: Easier said than done, apparently!

Anyone got a link to a working x86 boot iso?

hmmmm I have it but let me see where I can post it.

It's really difficult to tell what is going on. Watching people typing in shell commands and flicking through windows for 4 mins isn't my idea of fun. Perhaps in future videos you could focus a bit more on the stuff you can do, rather than keeping it in time with the music.
That tracker looked interesting, but there was little more than a brief glimpse.
