Windows Vista Help Thread
« on: January 30, 2007, 03:14:58 PM »
Instead of listening to people complain about Vista or trash it, I decided to do something productive this year. I will try to answer any questions posed about upgrading to it, using WinUAE with it, and anything in general you need to know or problems using it..  I usually charge for this kinda thing with local businesses but I want to see Amiga users that are using this OS (to host Amiga Emulation or everyday usage) enjoy it and be able to embrace it better.

So if you are upgrading have a question relating to hardware or software (no FLAMES please, let's follow the rules of these forums) please ask it here..

<:-) Provocative point of view :-)>

If the Amiga were alive today it would be Windows Vista, and the custom chipset would be DirectX 10

*snnnrrrk* *k-ptui!*  Eww!

If the Amiga were alive today, it would be quite similar to Mac OS X.

Why does this thread appear on the front page?
Religion is for people who believe in hell.
Spirituality is for people who have been there.

Because it's in the Alternative Operating Systems section.

And Wayne asked us ages ago if this section should stay on the front page and the answer was yes.

My partner bought Vista as my main birthday present needless to say was very disapointed.Eventually got it installed but lack of drivers and refusal to install loads of my XP acceptable software compounded the mysery.Poor love she bought me the full Home Premium package instead of the upgrade still makes me grind my teeth in anger!!!

I'm a Windows 2000 PC user but I think I might make a change to Linux. Windows just seems to bloated. A resource hog. If they could write a lean Amiga-like OS utilizing state of the art PC hardware, I think it would be great.
Amiga 1000, Saphire 68020/68881, Inboard 1000 1.5MB, upgraded daughter boards to A500/A2000 specs, upgraded chip sets (sorry, it was some time ago) Dataflyer with a Quantum 540MB drive.
