Hi all!
After drooling for decades as a young adventurer over any amiga I could find in the neighbourhood I finally bought a trusty amiga 500 rev 6 with 1mb ram.
My happiness and excitement are to the sky, finally!
I was busy restoring the poor fella and modding a bit and I put a gotek and a switchless mod.
There started my problems...
The gotek works perfect if I use it as df0 on internal connector but not on the external one (switch df1 to df0 with switchless mod).
Same destiny for the working internal floppy: dead on the external port.
I head it spinning but then I see the icon of the floppy on the screen asking to insert it.
With the normal amiga floppy connected on external port and gotek on internal I started the amiga test kit and there it shows no df1 connected.
Then, absurd, when I do "signal test" BOTH drives spin?
Is this normal?
If I select specifically DF1 and do signal test the drive spins but I get "DF1: No track 0 (Drive not present?)
What can I try to further troubleshoot?
I inverted CIAs, same behavior.

The plot thickens!
If I connect internal floppy to internal connector, gotek to external and start workbench 1.2 from floppy it sees correctly floppies chosen on the gotek.
So the issue remaining is... Why those do not start automatically if gotek is on external port and I do the switchless mod?

Sorry for all my ramblings...
The gotek had to be set on S1!
All is great now.
