Hey bud! Just a quick note. I saw your blog about "When is DDR-3 RAM not DDR-3 ram?" and I've had the same problem. I buy sticks of ram for my office, dozens at a time. For the past few years I'd buy
G.Skill F3-10666CL7Q-16GBXH to go in our Dell OptiPlex workstations. One day a batch of it just wouldn't work. No boot, no POST, just beeping. Turns out after some back-and-forth with the manufacturer, they'd changed something in the "standard" and this "new DDR3" was no longer compatible with our "DDR3" motherboards.
Looking at the date codes on the chips, I found that memory manufactured before 12/13 worked, memory manufactured after 1/14 did not.
*Insert a bunch of cursing from me here*
In any case, I'm confirming your issue. Tested a variety of sticks from different manufacturers, Eventually found
this Crucial ram that does work with our systems. Maybe it will work for yours?
Cheers!
