I never cared about bootup speed because I never turn my linux computer off, it almost never needs a reboot. My uptime monitor is reading 4 months right now, and thats only because of a power failure 4 months ago.
How many local-root exploits ago is that? :laughing:
Seriously though, Ubuntu, Debian and all dont update their kernels just for giggles, refuse to reboot when new kernels are installed and you might very well end up with someone else also enjoying your nice hardware
