You might try increasing the buffer size on your software. I ran into a similar problem when using the Maestrix patch to get OctaMed Soundstudio 1.03c to work on my MicroA1-c. The default setting for the Paula 14-bit mixer was under 400 bytes. The ideal setting was 4096 bytes for the AHI-compatible soundcard.
