Thanks for the review. Dunno, I saw no big (lethal) problems, considering it's an Earlybird system. (Whatever that means)

At this moment I am getting the Debian "Woody" CD 1 from internet. I hope I have it before the end of the day so that I can try it out tonight. It contains KDE and some other nice software.

I just don't understand why people consider KDE and Gnome as nice.. Why does everything have to look like MSWin? When I get mine I'll install debian(sid) with Enlightenment window system(hope E17 is out by the time I get my A1). Enlightenment without gnome/kde rules.

From the Eyetech website:

"systems will be shipped with Linux PPC and the UAE emulator installed"

Why did you have to install Linux yourself? I ordered an A1-XE complete system just so that I wouldn't have to worry about hardware compatibilities and OS installation. Are systems going to be shipped without the OS setup now?

Maybe if you order a complete system (hd, gfx etc) at Eyetech they will install Linux for you. But I am not sure.
