I've got no problem waiting, it'll be done when it's done, and I think that the longer it takes the better it'll be. That being said, I am also considering getting myself the Pegasos/Morphos as it's availible now, does anyone know if there is or will be an authorized dealer in Canada ?

I've got no problems whatsoever waiting...    especially since I am not actively waiting. When it arrives it arrives... and when it does, I will try it out... 2003, 2004 or 2005... it doesn't really matter to me.

As for now I do whatever I need to do on my PC...  and my A1200 fills my AMiGA needs.
Amiga 1200, Mirage Tower, PC-Key 1200, Blizzard 1260/50, SCSI Kit, 256MB RAM, 40GB HD, Mediator SX, Soundblaster 128, Voodoo 3 and Realtek 8139.

@Darth

No, I like MorphOS too much now :-)
I can't think of any reason why I would want to run OS4.

Right after the demise of Commodore it seemed imperative that the Amiga got back on track ASAP if it wanted any chance of survival.
Somehow that never really happened.  Many years have passed and we find ourselves in a completely different arena. Computers are less exiting than they used to be and all have about the same possibilities.  Even the new Amiga related PPC hardware is not that different from other designs.
AmigaOS is a brave effort to somehow keep the Amiga alive, in a way so is MorphOS but unless they bring us something as exiting as the first AmigaOS did in it's day they will end up being just another OS and probably will take the same route as say BeOS.
I would say it's not that important when it will finally surface, more important IMHO is what this NEW OS will bring us.  I was there when people were totally amazed with the Amiga, no matter what their computer background was they were stunned.
Will we see this happen once again ?  I'm willing to wait for another experience like that.  Maybe I will have to wait for OS4 or OS5 for that to happen, maybe it will come from a completely different direction.  I don't know, all I know is that I'm waiting...

I stopped waiting around for OS4 about the time that it nothing had been done on it for 6 months one week before its planned release.

TBH I felt like it was an utter slap in the face. The final straw however was when I saw the production A1. Sorry, it may have been a better machine than the prototype with the slot connector, but to me it seemed like a cheep imotation and lacked any kind of inovation.

I bought a pc and have been running BeOS happily ever since. Amiga inc had their chance, they blew it and that was the end of it, nothing I've seen since convinces me otherwise.

Pegasos is a nice machine I suppose but unless BeOS could run on it (the ppc veriaty) then I see no reason in buying one.

(Morphos may be a nice system, it seemed it when I played with a demo of it on a mates ppc equiped A1200, but it simply doesn't do what I want of it).

Now I await Zeta - BeOS r6. It should be out by xmas or shortly their after.
Blessed Be,
Alan Fisher - the_leander

OpenBeOS is already on it's way and we hope to get Zeta also at some point.
