T-Shirts?
« on: July 30, 2003, 06:07:40 PM »
From this ANN thread, it seems like the Club Amiga T-shirts could be moving :-)  A inc haven't said anything though.

Mods: Move to talk-about if you want, but I'd call T-shirts "software" ;-)

A few people seem to be confirming this. Amazing. :-o
Someone has to state the obvious and that someone is me!

Well, if I get mine, I might just bring it to work so they can snap a pic of me in it, then I'll upload it and provide a link. Those who have been to past St. Louis Amiga shows will remember me guarding the seminar rooms, and perhaps what I look like.

@Billsey

Same here.  If I see such a package, I will both snap a shot of the package and the shirt.  I will also upload it to AO's gallery. Once again, I'll believe it when I see it, and not before.

Regards,
Targhan

Well,  I just sent Cecilia an email via her address link on Ann ... (Ok,  So its a Yahoo addy ... I use my Yahoo addy,  why shouldn't she ?)

Asking her if she would mind posting verification HERE that the post on Ann was a genuine "Cecilia" posting.

Would be nice if Amiga Inc finally solves the situation. Would mean a lot for their credibility and may suggest an improving financial status.

Sending a mail to the address on the page she links to her on
amiga.org might be a good idea too, it's ceciliafx@yahoo.com

Anyway.. if it's a really serious prankster, someone might even have
made a couple of t-shirts and sent them to a few people that the
prankster met at Amiwest and chatted enough with to learn that they
had bought coupons. That would be a hilarious joke. :-)

I guess, but I think it's unlikely.  This person would've have to also extract the postal addresses from these people - considering some of the weird people who hang out at Amiga forums these days, I'd call that a serious piece of social engineering.

If it was a prank, it would have to be done by someone who personally knew all the recipients well enough to also know their street addresses.  I met quite a few people at amiwest who I consider decent and friendly, but I don't know them well enough yet to give any of them my street address.

Grrr.. I have moved house twice in the year and a bit since the coupon crisis so, even if they have genuinely been posted this time, I won't get mine... :-(

Guess I'll just have to console myself with my Genesi T-shirts.

I'm sure I could find out Cecilias street address in a few minutes, if
I wanted to. Ok, make that half an hour, since apparently she doesn't
want to show her full name on her website. ;-) Also, you're thinking
that they would be sent to "random" forum visitors - something which
is certainly not what a prankster would want. He'd want to send it (or
to impersonate) people like Cecilia, who are known to be fairly
"objective".

Because.. if it was a known AInc supporter, people would say they lied
just to support AInc. If it was a known Genesi supporter, people would
say they lied in some attempt to smear AInc. :-)

Until one of two things happen, namely (a) I receive *my* T-shirt or (b) someone reliable posts a picture of one, I'm treating it as a hoax.

I sent an email to the webmaster of Amiga Inc website and have received a response!

According to Ray A. Akey, Amiga Inc. Has not sent any T-Shirts to anyone, period!

When they do, we will hear it from them!
