Command or utility to disable an FPU?
« on: March 01, 2011, 03:15:36 AM »
Hi, with AmigaDOS's "CPU" command one has a nice convenient way to disable caches on one's CPU.

But is there a way to disable an FPU through software?  I.e. a command or a small utility that will shut of an FPU?

Thanks!

Music I've made using Amigas and other retro-instruments: http://theovoids.bandcamp.com

On Blizzard boards you can, by holding down the "2" key on reset, but it's pretty useless as it also disables the CPU and the extra ram... :(

Curious though, why would you want to just shut down the FPU ???

Benchmarking perhaps?
Amiga A1200, 3.1 ROMs, Blizzard 1230 MKIV 128MB & FPU, 4GB DoM SSD, Workbench 3.1
