Title: Where to donate for AROS?
Post by: ElPolloDiabl on February 25, 2011, 06:16:49 PM
Hi,
Is there any development area that is badly needed in AROS? If I don't get any suggestions I will put $50 into the 64-bit porting, which I think will be impressive.

Wow, it's really amazing to see that so many people are willing to spend so much money to help supporting the development of AROS.

I think, developing a fully free and open source version of AmigaOS and the Kickstart ROM is the only promising future for Amiga. It would be nice to be able to completely switch to AROS in some future.

My next donation for a free software project should be AROS.

EDITL: Btw, have the AROS guys ever considered applying for Google's Summer of Code? It will be possible to sign up for it as a project beginning from February, 28, meaning this Monday. Google will spend US$5000 per student and I think AROS has incredibly good chances to get selected.

Hi Adrian,
we are talking about a bounty for porting the Kastes port of Fabs OWB to AROS.
This would rock.

I think one of the most important bounties for Aros is the one to have Zune updated to MUI4 standards. This will make it possible to port Fab's OWB, Ambient and other excellent MorphOS applications to Zune, as well as making all the existing applications more stable and far more attractive looking.

Aren't you a little late for 64bit? Michal has had the x86-64 build up quite a while and it is very cool :)

Just do what I do and split your donation evenly across the projects that interest you :) 68k native is my current interest.

Acpi is where I'm planning on spending some more money personally.   But as bloodline said just pick some that interest you and donate accordingly.
