Nude Amiga Pics!!!
« on: September 21, 2004, 01:17:29 AM »
Anyone by chance got a picture of their motherboard from a 500 that they could share with me? It's just that I was wondering if somehow it would matter if the chips were in the wrong way round.
My previous posts were about my flashing power LED. Well that seems to have stopped now and I have the drive not recognising a disc but running the whole time. Sheesh!!!
I am at the present time removing chips to clean them so I want to make sure they go in the right way.
Anyone who can offer advice is welcome. :-)

That's also a condition of a reversed floppy cable.
On PC equipment, the red wire normally goes closest
to the power connector. If I remember correctly, the
red wire should go farthest from the power connector.
(Just the opposite on the Ami)
Reverse it, and the floppy runs all the time. And mind
which way you plug the cable to the mother board.
Red wire to #1 shown on the left side of the floppy
connnector in that nice pic from Cyberus.

That usually occurs if the floppy cable is mounted the wrong way.

Well, they always said that 'banging the hardware' is the way to get the most out of your Amiga.

Notice how most of the chips have a notch. The motherboard has a printed "notch" showing the orientation of chip placement.

Not quite brail, so don't let a blind man work on your system...    :-D

The first thing I look at when I see a nude Amiga is her good pair of... CIAs. What you were guessing it was? ;¬)
