Yellow screen w/ a501 on Amiga 500
« on: January 24, 2009, 03:54:13 AM »
Hi,

A501 mem card with slightly 'fuzzy' battery. Removed battery and acid damage hadn't started to spread but get yellow screen and no boot.

No other visual damage.....

Ideas?

Thanks

Busted RAM chip, probably the one near the battery. Replace it or swap the entire A501.
Goodbye people.

I\'ll pop on from time to time, RL is acting up.

Aha, interesting, is that so?

I have exactly the same issue with an expansion board (a 501 clone), and I was thinking somehow that it was more likely to be the pcb than the ram chips.  I just thought the plastic packaging of the chips would probably withstand the leak.
Restraining orders are just another way of saying I love you!
