Sound Prefs Test - No Beep?
« on: November 25, 2014, 02:06:01 AM »
I'm sure I'm overlooking something obvious.  Amiga 3000, OS 3.1.  I have speakers hooked up and have used SAY so I know the sound works.  But in the sound Prefs, when set to BEEP, the TEST button makes no sound.  Also when I set it to an 8vsx sample, no sound.

Am I missing something?

Sorry it's been a long time since I've dove into the Amiga so deep... can you clarify what you mean by unit?  Is that a tooltype of the icon?

Ah I'm an idiot.  My Y cable is bad... the white lead works on both outputs of the A3K but the red works on neither.

What's even stranger is that when it's white to white and red to red, SAY works fine but sound prefs test does not.  If I unplug the red cable it works.  And if I put white to red and red to white, it works?!
