Anyone familiar with MakeCD?
« on: June 07, 2017, 02:20:41 AM »
I have MasterISO, MakeCD, and BurnIt! but MasterISO doesn't support my external CD-R/W burner, a Yamaha 8424.

I managed to create a track using MakeCD, but I can't get it to find the CD-R/W. Whether I use DAO or TAO it reports "can't find cfbscsi.device unit 2" (the correct unit number).

Anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong? I'd print out the docs but I haven't got a printer connected to my A4000D/060.

Is that the correct device name? Does the device otherwise work correctly with all your other applications?

Imho MakeCD works (I used it years ago), but the learning curve is steeeeeep! :(

Yes, the back of the CD-R/W is dialed to "2". I don't use it for anything else (what would that be?)

If you're available, I could bring my setup there (you're in the D.C. area, right?)

I mean, does it read data discs, play audio CD's, etc., when connected? I'm not familiar with that device name you mentioned; how is the drive physically connected to the Amiga?

I'm actually in the Gainesville/Manassas area, now.  How far is that from you?

Yes, but apparently, the wrong device name. Are you sure that the device is named like this? I would bet the correct name is "cybscsi.device" and not "cfbscsi.device". Or probably some other name that depends on the host adapter you are using, but "cfbscsi" does not sound like any host adapter I'm aware of.
