This new-fangled guitar-music...
« on: November 02, 2005, 10:40:47 AM »
Not usually into what's popular, must be getting old...but I've been listening to the Kaiser Chiefs for quite some time and really like them...next I shall be wearing a scarf in a camp neckerchief fashion (or whatever the fickle student fashions are these days)....

Anyone else like them?
I like Amigas

They ain't so bad for middle-class neckercheif guitar strummers one has to admit.

Why don't kids these days like good old fashioned house music anymore?  Most of my students look like Marilyn Manson. Bloody freaks they are.

They're not bad, I certainly enjoyed listening to their last Album... nothing special though.

 I mean I couldn't get past their lack of synthetics ;-)

Actually, I mean I expect better things from them in the future!

Cos it's {bleep} ?  ;-)

Give it another 5-10 years and it'll be classed as retro, and all those pretentious studenty types will be buying it by the barrow load..until 'the next big thing' (tm) about a month later.

Edit..{bleep}ing profanity filter :-x
On schedule, and suing

My girlfriend! :-)
We were in Bute for a short break when the G8 concert was on last summer. We'd gone out and got pished, then collapsed back into the hotel room. My g/f had fallen asleep and | was watching the concert on telly. When the Kaiser chiefs came on, she suddenly sat up and asked, "Who are the cool punk band? This is excellent." Next day I told her she liked the Kaiser Chiefs and she had no recollection of any of it but she trusted her own gassed judgement enough to buy the album.

I also saw them live at T in the Park. They were pretty good but Kasabian were better, IMO.
