Hoya!

To bad, I am REALLY skint at the moment!!! :-(
Otherwise, I would have enjoyed going to Tain, besides I wonder how
far is it from Tours???

Anyway, I hope nice things will be shown at the show, because people
will become REALLY tired of waiting for small pieces of infos...
The Amigans are loyal but every vertue has its LIMITS!!! :-\

@simplex

1) Both RoadShow and the new Intuition have been developed on 68k.
(RoadShow is even planned to be available this way)

2) ExecSG is supposed to be API-compatible with Exec.

3) Even "nearly finished" is still unfinished.

4) Since Petunia doesn't run on ExecSG (yet) it would be
impossible to use any 68k-code on it, and if Hyperion could
do that, well than OS4 would be finished  ;-)
1. Make an announcment.
2. Wait a while.
3. Check if it can actually be done.
4. Wait for someone else to do it.
5. Start working on it while giving out hillarious progress-reports.
6. Deny that you have ever announced it
7. Blame someone else

Exec SG is quite finished

This is really good news. With the ExecSG in working order it should be a much easier task to integrate the different pieces of the OS.

Kronos , you must be the single biggest f*ck wit in the community.

Hey hey... Decent manners here. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. Its always nice to have both pro and cons in a discussion. And as we all know is Kronos pretty competent at handing out cons regarding aOS

Okay, that's a good point.

Right, but he said ExecSG is "quite" finished. Or did you mean something else?

And what's the point of using a Cyberstorm PPC if it's 100% 68k. Doesn't make sense, unless they deliberately want to mislead. Do you agree? (I'm not saying you're saying they want to mislead, I'm saying that if it's 100% 68k and they boast of PPC then all I can figure is they're attempting to mislead & asking if you agree.)

@jumpship

Never said anything about being half-empty(ready), but
a glass that isn't filled up to the marker can't be served.

Even if it's only a tiny bit that's missing.

@simplex
Maybe they want to demostrate Q2 (WarpOS) too ?

Myself, I wont condemn, praise or analyse any aspect of OS4 whatsoever until it is running in a machine right in front of me. End of story.

@kronos

Sorry, i didn't mean it that way, more in the way of the "saying":

If a glass is sitting on a table and 50% of its capacity is liquid is it half-full or half-empty?

People who say "half-full" look for the good in a situation (optimist),
People who say "half-empty" look for the bad in a situation (pessimist).

JS

(BTW Sorry about the bad spelling! :lol:)

@jumpship

If I just filled the glass: It's half full.
If I just drank out of it : It's half empty.

If I have nothing to do with the current state of that particular class:

Who give a flying f*** it's       off topic

4. Wait for someone else to do it.

@kronos,

All I was saying is that you are picking holes in Hyperion's  atempt to generate more interest in OS4.

And please don't swear, I don't appriciate it, and I was only trying to be light hearted, something that is clearly lost on you.

@HyperionMP

ExecSG is finished? Does that include the extra work you guys were going to put into it.. automatic stack enlargement, etc? If so, then this is great news.

There are signs of MOS preacher panic on ANN too, attempting
to deride from any AOS4 progress.

Pro AOS supporters should see this as a good sign, that
the MOS preachers fear they are losing the battle to win
converts to MOS.

The fact that the debating points demonstrate no technical
acumen or content whatsoever underline it.

My advice is sit back and let them fail to win friends and
influence anyone.

No one is going to "convert" now, this is all just bitching.

Hey Seehund isnt it about time you put in an advert for
your petition and mips_proc to waffle on about VIA and
modular CPU addons ( vapourware )?

Perhaps we will make it a party and get Cheesegrate on here
as well saying "Amino Clowns" just to add that bit of extra
class to the debate.

Oh and we also could do with some clueless f**k saying
"it will take years for AOS to catch up with MOS because
AOS was started later" - especially from someone who is
unfamiliar with the technical content of either and has
never done any project management and has failed to realise
that one is built supposedly without reference to AOS sourcecode
and the other isnt.

Theres also the icing on the cake to add too, calling people
BAFs and denying that there is any such thing as a BMF
because MFs arent B because the protagonist is an MF and
by dint of logic perspective mus tbe correct.

Now, did I pre-empt the 600 post flamewar sufficiently? Great. How
about BMFs look forward to the FINAL release of the MOS/Pegasos
cartel and BAFs look forward to the FINAL releases of the AOS4/Shark/A1
cartel.

In the meantime, back on the topic:

Good news: Bits of eye candy to demonstrate.
Bad news: Integration of all components not done yet.

Bad news was not unexpected and is not news.
Hate figure. :lol:
