I don't know what ikir meant, but a recent test in the Amiga-Future
said that inferior to the HighWay/SubWay.

Only one USB-connectors.
Buggy chipset (problems with low-speed devices such as mice, keyboard
hubs ....).
Far less HW-supported.
USB-stack is also inferior to Poseidon.
No european distributor.
Full-lenght-Zorro-card (the only Zorro left in my A4k is the one
inline with the FlickerFixer).

Would have been a great card, if it were alone in the market.

No but it was the AF you said that it might be a problem for those
who allready have ISA/PCI or Video-Slot-cards in their system
blocking out all free Zorro-slots.

I haven't seen this review but a couple of things need to be clarified.

a 4 port usb hub can be purchased and you would still have change leftover from what you have spent on the competition, plus an external hub can have it's own psu which is better for power hungry devices.

You can actually use Poseidon on it as well, so you have the best of both worlds.

Your price ( taken from that test): 179.95 AUD ~ 100 Euro.
HighWay (from KDH) 99.90 Euro.

Having been an owner of a Thylacine myself for a few months now and knowing Robert Tsien (The Designer) personally as he is a member of our user group, I can safely say that he is busy fixing all the problems you have mentioned.

The mouse and keyboard issue is very high on his list of priorities as he has only been able to start work on that due to the fact that my USB mouse was the first one he has had to test things properly with.

On the issue of buggy chipsets, there were very few chipsets to choose from when it came to interfacing with Zorro II. The chipset Robert used in his design is primarily used in embedded devices.

What you guys seem not to realise is that Robert has only done all this hard work to support the Amiga community. Critisism is welcome but don't forget that only a few months ago we didn't have USB connectivity so we should be lucky we have people like Robert.

On another note, the Ethernet adaptor drivers work quite though there are still some bugs to fix. Robert demonstrated the adaptors at a recent meeting and everyone was so impressed, many of us who own a Thylacine are considering buying an adaptor. The scanner and printer drivers work quite well although there are still issues with the Epson C70 printer that Robert is working on.

Sure he worked hard, but so did Michael Böhmer and Chris Hodges !

Just his bad luck that someelse delivered a superior product
at an earlier date.

Same thing may happen with Catweazle-PCI and that floppy-interface
(forgot the name) from down-under.

The market is so small that it very hard to survive, and it's
even harder if you got competition.
