I swapped my hard drive on a CSmk3 for a v5 SCSI2SD. Definitely slower than a real drive at ~1.2MB/s, but for getting that ancient, spinning, and HOT drive out of the tight case it was definitely worth it. v6 wasn’t available at the time so I’d be interested to hear your results with it.

Also using v5s on an A3000 and GVP A530, both working well. Maximum performance of those controllers is closer to the v5’s maximum so the speed penalty isn’t as noticeable. If I had to describe the overall feeling of speed I’d call it “not super fast” rather than “slow.” It’s a familiar speed - there’s plenty of precedent in the history of Amiga hard drive controllers and drives.

Wish it was possible to configure some aspects (like termination) with jumpers rather than having to connect to my Mac over USB, but overall I’ve found them to be very robust. I’ve had no issues after configuring them.
