Title: MorphOS external monitor with ibook
Post by: Dr. Chef on January 13, 2014, 05:22:41 AM
Hello again. I have a miniVGA to VGA cable and a external monitor that I want to hook up to my MorphOS machine (iBook 1.2 Ghz). Is this possible and how would I do that? I'm using MorphOS 3.4.

Thanks.

Er, well, to start I think you should plug it all in and see what happens. :)
Under OSX, the iBooks can only duplicate the laptop display onto a monitor, they can't extend it. I think that's a firmware-level thing, so there might be similar behavior under MorphOS. Furthermore, I don't know if MorphOS even has multiple monitor support, so a duplicate display might be the only option anyway.

There is a software hack that bypasses the firmware Apple put in place.  Apple didn't want the iBooks competing with the Powerbooks.  Do this at your own risk.  Go to;

Models Supported  -  Is your model is supported

Go to:

And follow the instructions

Just follow the mac brick road.  And good luck     :-)

External monitor on the iBook is not supported by MorphOS.
