Thanks!  Working great in preliminary testing on my highly patched A2000 system.  As previous commenter noted, Birdie crashes with this installed as soon as you open any window.  Out of idle curiosity, what's the general consensus on this?  I happen to rather like Birdie.  Is there any work-around or similar program that I can use that will allow me to have OS4-like window borders on my system?

Thanks again!  :drink::drink:

Demonstration new layers.library (45.19)

new version presented from time 7:20

Could you include some narrative  on the video? Not really sure what I was watching. Then again I just skipped to 7:20 and saw someone run a SysInfo test that said the machine was running 180x the speed of an A4000, LOL. ;)

I have an idea: write a web browser. Such thing can run reasonably well on 68020 and is always useful.

I dont mind if you skip development phase and disassemble existing IBrowse 2.4 and just add CSS support.

With the number of programmers that have already commented on this thread, if they pooled their talents and did it exactly as you said this would be cake. ;)  I was just using iBrowse a few minutes ago to snag some stuff off Aminet and check Google News.  It's amazing how well my A2000 holds up, sitting here next to my i7 PC.

Layers.library 45.21 working great here so far, it was nice to be able to turn Birdie back on, I'd disabled it when it didn't work with the previous new layers.library.

I also was unsuccessful in extracting rtg.library from your split zip archive thingy. WinRAR couldn't put the two pieces back together again, and I'm not downloading and trying to figure out WinZip just for that. ;)

Now that I'm messing around with turning things on & off, turns out that my 4.x-like VisualPrefs gadgets really down my system. I'd always thought that was Birdie, doing that. Huh, might have to re-think my patches! ;)

Nope, still didn't work.  Good tip though, and for your first post, thanks!

Get a seek error trying to extract from the combined zip archive.  :(

Disregard my last, got it finally, just had to finagle WinRAR a bit. Thanks @crasbe!

Pumped it into my system via LoadResident, C:Version rtg.library went from 40.3992 to 40.4024. I guess the obvious questions now are:

- I didn't originally have an rtg.library in Libs: even though it was showing a version number. I guess it's in ROM?

- What are the changes/benefits of this new version? Sorry if I missed something obvious in this long thread. ;)

Thanks THoR! :)

No, it goes into LIBS:Picasso96. If you don't have P96 then you don't need the library in first place.

The suprise is a recompiled version from the sources, with all fixes applied. It is not exactly a recent version either. Just collecting dust...

Ah, I didn't think to look there. Still kinda new to Amiga RTG. ;-)  Thx!

I recorded that in a video :

I couldn't for the life of me figure out what is going on here.  Could you at least point the camera directly at the screen when trying to document an issue?
