It sounds like it messed up your icon types, or is mis-reading them, or mis-interpreting what actions should be performed when clicking on an icon of a certain type (i.e., changed "project" icons into "tool" icons.)  It's trying to run the slave file directly instead of piping it all into your C:WHDLoad executable.

Sorry, never used Classic Workbench either, IMHO it makes your system too "un-Amiga-like", and is going to make what's probably a pretty easy to resolve situation much harder, unless someone is experienced with it.  :(

What do you see if you open the properties of one of the game icons? What happens if you try to run the game from the command line? Can you confirm that WHDLoad is still present in your C: directory?

My suggestion would then be to install PeterK's icon.library, which is able to recognise and display all types of icons.

Excellent point.

Are you clicking on a full color icon to start the game? Or something else, perhaps looking like a little square?

At the moment I've got the files displayed in list view. I will try and have them set out as icons to see what they look like. Surely the appearance of the icon will now resolve the issue of loading the WHDLoad games?

A properly installed WHDLoad game (like what most people download off the Internet) needs to start from the icon.  That's because many of the tooltypes and parameters used to run the game (such as the name of the .slave file)  are set as icon tooltypes.

Icon should be of type "Project", with the default tool set as "C:WHDLoad".  Again, assuming you have something like NewIcons or the Peter K. icon library installed, that icon will be a little color picture of the game - typically of the box art.

I feel like after I installed Classic Workbench there is something missing where it is not recognizing the WHDload games.  :(

Yeah, sorry about that.  I hate to sound like an a*hole but it's probably better to not install things without researching them fully.  IMHO Classic Workbench is rubbish because of the way it changes the system to operate in an unpredictable and un-Amiga-like manner.  Just my .02 cents...
