Sadly for me, I saw one of the Dell's ST2420 monitors on icBay for $70 plus $20 shipping and bought it with a $19 sound bar in between scribbling the posts above.  At 1920 X 1080 and syncing to 15kHz they really produce a nice picture in a small form factor.

Ha, so no sale on the A4K?  I'll probably be hitting you up in a couple years, lol.  ;)

On the monitor front, I always preferred 4:3 for my Amigas.  Got one of these on it's way to me now, for testing  :)

Won't you need a magnifying glass to view that tiny 20" monitor, and I  repurpose my monitors for use with my Roku for movies, so 4:3  lacks the "full fairyland effect."

There are always a ton of A500's on eBay in various shapes; the states (USA) favored the A500 and Europe the A1200.

Well, if he is going for a retro gaming experience, the ACA500 is not needed.

Mike, It is 6:47 am here in GU, and I am on my first cup of caffeine of the morning

Odd question, but i was just reading about the Chameleon 64 and its ability to emulate Amiga....since i have a C64 already, would it be sacrilegious to get a Chameleon 64 to emulate the amiga through the same monitor i run the C64 in, using the same joystick?

It might also allow to save some space...

just asking for opinions obviously:)

Yes that is what it does, provided you connect to a VGA monitor.  The Chameleon can act as a Super Cartridge (many different functions) for the C64 or as a stand alone FPGA computer emulator able to store multiple different "Cores" of computers in memory: the C64 and Amiga being most relevant to this thread.  You need a Chameleon and the docking station for full functionality; power and core downloads through USB (from a PC) or USB power brick and +/- PS/2, (Amiga or C64) keyboard.  The docking station allows use of C64/Amiga joysticks

Your Avatar is that of an ENT (Otolaryngologist) and with that kind of income, your Avatar should be able to buy any vintage computer system.
