Rumors from trusted source :) Beginning of mars , no specs yet! Hope this will be powerful enough for cool Amiga emulator projects :)

Well the Model B 2 is extremely capable when it comes to emulation, so an throng more powerful can only be an advantage.

The 3 will probably provide a 1.5Ghz CPU which will allow us full speed emulation of most Sega Dreamcast and Sony PSP titles. This will also give us access to 68000 emulation, as well as improve a few other things.

Likewise OpenGL beta drivers were recently released for the Linux desktop environment as well as for games...

Pi is my new Amiga/retro computer  hobbie... one I can afford.

Is there a 68k JIT for ARM yet?

"Rumors from trusted source"

Yup, cos that always turns out to be true.   Bearing in mind we've had many Pi models... this "story" is very much like my breaking news

How about some info.. at least to give us all a giggle ;)

EDIT: Have a look at Rpi forums where they clamped down on meaningless speculation

As for the Pi 3...

...there are also these while you wait...

Not as cheap of course, but very capable!

@Nicolas

In regards to ARM 68k emulation, there is a JIT core available. I think it debuted with UAE4ARM, but don't quote me on it  :)

It's not blindingly fast, but its enough to get, at a guess,  something like '030 through to lower spec '060 type speeds on an RPI2 (depending on what its doing).

Near as I can tell this is where I write something under the guise of being innocuous, but really its a pot shot at another persons/peoples choice of Amiga based systems. Unfortunately only I cant see how transparent and petty it makes me look.

Exactly, I want to replace my old ARM cluster with something smaller :)
Plus various other uses, including one in each Amiga to act as "service companion", provinding local proxying, wifi etc.

Well I'm in no hurry, but I was looking at the Odroid C2 as a potential decent cheap ARM board (quad-2GHz A53, $40), but can wait a few weeks to see how this pans out.

The Orange has been a flop to me: lack of support, hard to setup to your needs and overclocked as hell. If you run it at full speed it gets hot enough to burn your finger to the bone.
I cannot speak about the ODROID ones; but the infamous XU4 is well-know by its noisy fan (a big no-no in this kind of devices), my only hope are the C1/C2, specially the later, not being factory overclocked.
