In search of the Perfect Sam 440 Flex case
« on: August 29, 2011, 12:10:32 AM »
I needed a case for the FreeNas system that I just built so my beloved Sam Flex gave up it's Antec 3480. Now I am looking for something a little more special for the Sam440 Flex to go back in to. Prefer as small and quiet as possible slim line DVDR and Slim line (low-profile) video card I already have.

Any ideas for really cool small case for the baby?  needs to have a PS that works with the low wattage of the sam board.

Thanks, Sorry if this has been covered a million times already

Thanks,
Jeff

I recently threw my SAM into this case.  It's nothing fancy, and perhaps a bit small for some, but the price was right and it works flawlessly.

Sweet! I like it. Does the power supply work with the Flex Motherboard?  I have had trouble with some not working.

Included PSU should work just fine with the flex.  Had zero issues with my 440 EP.

Only drawback about the case is it's only really any good for 1 HD/1 optical drive setups, but you could cram 2 2.5" HD's in it with a little effort.

I have a Lite-On SATA DVD-RW and SATA Patriot SSD in mine on the 440 EP, works well.

I use an Apex MI-100 for my HTPC and it rox! Nice for the living room, and space for an 5.25 drive, and 2x3.5 drives!

How about this one? Even though this case is technically Mini-ITX it looks like the Sam Flex might just fit.

I've been looking for a new PC case, that one looks just perfect if I can find an uprated psu to fit.  :)
