Does anyone else...

Does anyone else quickly scroll the AROS website up about an inch so that nobody thinks you're surfing furry porn or is it just me?

Maybe we should do a sexified version of the MorphOS butterfly, just to put the two on equal footing?

I would like it if we could redesign Kitty to look a little more "cute" and a bit less "sexy". More like Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends, who was one of the best mascots ever. Too many people are offended by furries or sexually suggestive anthropomorphic animals, even if some of us have no problem with them. It's kind of like cosplay, some people find it incredibly offensive and wish those of us who do it would die.

I wonder how many years have passed since Eric Schwartz drew that thing.

So you're saying AROS should change mascot to be more appealing to idiots? :)

I think Kitty needs a modern redesign, but should not be dumped in favour of a new mascot. If the majority of the population are idiots, then yes, it should be more appealing to them as well.

If an offensive mascot is stopping Aros from gaining a larger userbase then I think it's a problem that needs to be addressed.

This was  meant as a joke post, but based on reality.  I just realized that I was subconsciously nervous about it.

I'm not offended by it, but I do feel a little creepy being seen with it.

And if you know me in real life, I'm pretty out there. ;)

I am sure he would draw it again today, if needed. To understand Schwatzs connection to furry-porn surf to http://sabrina-online.com/ - it gives some perspective on that.

I donĀ“t think a new kitty would be cool, if it is not drawn by Eric W. Schwartz, but I completely agree that the current image is inappropriate in some places (e.g. at work).

I'm actually quite astonished that you can say that in full seriousness.

Why was this not a problem 10 years ago? What the heck is the world coming to? It seems to me that we're heading straight back into dark medieval times, all in the name of political correctness - it's absurd. And I for one, is offended by this kind of nonsense.

I agree with Cammy and Kolla. And no, not offended by sexily drawn cartoons - big difference between them and that real-life costumed "furries" phenomenon  ;)
