Description: Here's another workbench backdrop made from a classic pinup... I had to extend the original pic on the sides to fit the screen format... so blame me for any crudness on the sides. :-)

Quite a ride in its day... Bosch mechanical fuel injection, and 164 mph top speed IIRC (in certain iterations). Impressive for a 50's inline 6.

Yeah, the girl is pretty cool, too. :-P

The tape on the headlights is the same (cut and paste) because, as JimS said in his original post, he had to extend the picture on both sides to fit the screen format.

That makes sense and makes me feel better. I didn't think he meant that 1/4 the picture was an extension, and I was worried about this hand painted pin-up having cut and paste technology applied. No painter would have done it the same on both lights like that back when they were making these things. Pretty snazzy work he did there on that extension I think.

What car?

Okay, now I see it. :D

The tape on the headlights is the same (cut and paste) because, as JimS said in his original post, he had to extend the picture on both sides to fit the screen format.

The tape was (is) used to prevent the headlights from getting broken from track debris kicked up from other cars. This practice is still done at the grass-roots level of racing where you drive to the track, race and drive home in the same car.

nah, the headlights are taped up so they don't have to clean off dead bug bodies off the lights.

Thanks...

But in the original picture, the gal was holding her helmet, meaning *she* was the driver...

Maybe the lights are taped for the race? in the back? of which has aparently been won by her lover (with help from the boing of course).

and if you look real close, you'll notice the tape on both headlights is exactly the same. :-)  Cut & paste strikes back.
How many cars have seat belts on the hood?
