Title: WHDLOAD ROM's files

Hi,

I have installed the latest version of WHDLOAD onto my amiga 1200.

For me to run some games a message appears saying

DOS-Error #205
Object not found
on reading "devs:kickstarts/kick34005.a500"

Now i have downloaded a few kickstart rom files, but where do i put them in my workbench folder? I have looked in the Devs folder but can't see a kickstart folder.

You have to create it, it's not a standard AmigaOS drawer. (AmigaOS has drawers, not folders :) )

Oops...

I have created a kickstarts drawer and used a kickstarter tool that lets you select which operating ROM you want to use, but that hasn't made a difference.

The tool i downloaded from aminet is called skick346.lha

And it has no kickstarts in it...you need actual kickstarts. Ask... Cloanto, or Hyperion, or just grab them from somewhere. Because nobody cares.

This what happens when I apply the kickstart files to the kickstarter drawer in devs.

Error during ‘res load Loadkick’
Invalid kickstart image devs:kickstarts/kick34005.A500

So apparently you don't have the correct kickstart file - is the file size 262144 bytes?

kick34005.A500 is 52 bytes in size.

when i extracted skick346.lha i placed it on the workbench drive then moved the kickstarts drawer into the Devs drawer.

Is that the correct way of doing it?

In my devs drawer i have kickstarter drawer.

In that contains

Kickstart34005.a500.pat
Kickstart34005.a500.rtb

I also have a image of the 1.3 rom that I have renamed kickstart34005.a500

I have now resolved this issue.

It was the Max transfer settings.

A interesting morning spent  rebuilding the hard drive in isolation  :)

This are not kickstart files, they are files describing the kickstart.

Good - this is the actual kickstart image.

max transfer settings will forever plague us... it has been "fixed" numerous times now.
