Crazy. I have found that eBay is increasingly a bad place to buy old electronics from. Personally I just go to the city wide yard sales when they happen and hope for a good find. Generally on eBay people seem to be dreaming half the time, trying to sell Atari 800s and C64s for extreme prices...my favorites are the couple of hundred dollar C64s with no software or accessories that also haven't been tested to work. No thank you. I would rather give $50 to the people who have had an old computer sitting the garage for the last decade and take my chances than pay a premium for untested hardware which has nothing with it.
The one thing I still kick myself in the butt over is the Apple ][ I got years ago for 5 dollars along with an IBM typewriter at an auction that I threw away. I would kill to go back in time and keep that Apple ][, but to be fair that was before I really got into retro computing and Apple computers in general. So that is on my wish list along with the Atari 800.

I forget about the overseas versions of eBay. I guess greed is all over.
What really gets me are the people who say that if it doesn't sell, they will destroy the piece. That is insane, and I seriously doubt that that tactic works.
@Motrucker:
That's him alright! He is also selling a stock A3000T for I think $700...

Mike.
$285 is way to much money for an A2000 in Sweden. The seller is a dreamer.
Remember that Amiga was actually fairly popular here, it is not a rare computer. I got the impression mot people do not want the A2000, it is a heavy and large computer. I am sure you can find one for 50 euro if you ask around (or for free).
For $285 you can get an A4000D.

That's about as insane as paying $2,800 for a C=128, but at least you have the excuse of a bidding war. Asking $425 for tiny piece of silicon that lets you connect outdated hardware at least deserves a OMFG.
Great deal here. You better grab it before someone else does:

Well, I hope that's a typo. I see that he already sold 12 of them for 25.
Most likely it is temporarily out of stock, some sellers will increase the price to deter further sales when they are awaiting more stock from their supplier,
just means they don't have to end the current listing.

I couldn't resist posting this one from a pretty well established eBay Amiga dealer:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Commodore-Amiga-4000-A4000-Desktop-Computer-with-40gbHD-CDR-OS3-9-/271152248613?pt=US_Vintage_Computers_Mainframes&hash=item3f21eef725
For the price, I'm suprised at the lack of a few amenities like a CSPPC, Picasso IV, Deneb or a few others. Not even free shipping and the monitor is being sold seperately. This is the highest price I've every seen asked for a stock A4000 regardless of the condition.
To the best of my recollection, I bought one about 10 - 12 years ago, for $65...
Which makes me wonder how much she paid for hers...
He is selling an A500 "upgraded to a 1000." Huh? Or perhaps "upgraded to 100." We may never know WTF that means without bidding $10. Ah, the follies of the silly!
Not so crazy price.
Bought an A2000 from someone close to home that had been posted on Ebay.
$45.
Of course, anything I add to it will end up costing me an arm and a leg.
stupid woman has dropped it to $400 auction, $500 buy now! *facepalm*

I wonder how many times people will list things for stupid prices, before they realise its not the buyers that are at fault...
but how much will each price drop be? ;)
It will be interesting to see whether the a4000 hits the reserve price, if only so we know what it is.
.
Well the reserve price is above $550!
I recently sold one for nearly double that, fortunately they collected it as I wasn't looking forward to shipping it. I kept dreaming about putting a 2091 and a 2630 in it to bring it up to a2500/30 spec, but just couldn't bring myself to pay the silly prices (especially after getting ripped off on amibay for a 2091 that never turned up).
I sold one of these boards a few weeks ago for $269.95 (eBay item number 160954808679). It went too fast, which leads me to believe that the price was too low. So, this time I have listed this second A2320 for what it normally sells for and I will not lower the price.
He sure is arrogant! :p
Unfortunately this knucklehead IS.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/160985668745
I emailed him to let him know one just this week had sold for $130 and his response was he couldn't be responsible for what other sellers sold their stuff for and IF it didn't sell he was going to RAISE the price!
Really?!?!?!
I'm confused, his last listing was a 7 day auction, that only got one bid?
How can he think it "went too fast"?
The only bid it got was 4 seconds before the auction ended, so clearly it isn't worth any more than that!
Because "too fast" is a matter of opinion. His/her experience/opinion may be that items that take 3 months to sell are sold at a price that "they are worth" - because by then the market has had the opportunity to value the items at it's maximum (read: sold at the highest possible price for the seller), even if, in most other peoples opinion, they are asking "too much".
Yep, that sounds like doomy and is, although he lives in beaverton. When I decided to go back into my old hobby last year I didnt know about his reputation. Wanted an A2000 and had a boxed a500 complete with a520, psu, manual etc. He wanted 100 for the 2000 and took the 500.... a couple of days later the psu of the 2000 started smoking...:argue:
Google him if you need more info.
He's back on eBay with the "Ultimate A4000T" listed for $2000!DO NOT DO IT!!!!!! The account is hacked big time. ALL items under the user are $2000 and the weird thing is, it will redirect you to a site outside of EBAY that looks like ebay. I never saw that from Ebay's site yet.
Let us see how long the listing lasts.
If you stop the page loading before it redirects, you can report it.I did that, and I called the Ebay too about it, the page is still up and it looks like Ebay is not too concerned about it.
I did that, and I called the Ebay too about it, the page is still up and it looks like Ebay is not too concerned about it.
I wonder how many sellers are hacked at one time and they don't know about it?
I see what you mean now :)
Earlier when it was just listed the report section didn't redirect you .. let's hope Ebay is actually watching the person and trying to track them down this time, course the perpetrator probably hides their tracks working with proxies etc .. you wish there was a way to paralyze fingers for a year or so, first offense, both index fingers, next offense one hand etc .. yeah I am evil I guess :)
I'm out of Oregon myself and tried dealing with him before.. He posts a bunch of Craigslist ads as well.. I answered a couple of them and he was a headache to even talk to him on the phone... At least now he leaves his name and number on all his CL ads so I know to avoid him...

You know, sadly, it is not an ultimate A4000T: I have one still stored in its original box from SoftwareHut, with never used mouse, keyboard, floppy disks, switch keys and stand, that only came out of the box last year to be made up with a CSPPC 233/50, Mediator (Radeon 9200, sil3114ide, ESS-1 Solo sound, 8029RTL), Deneb, ZorRam 256MB, Indivision AGA MK2, DVD-RW, Mech's SCSI card reader and dual boots off a Maxtor Atlas U320 36 GB HDD into OS 3.9 and 4.1.

We have an Expression/Acronym in Australia which is somewhat widely known. Which is LOMBARD.

LOMBARD does indeed say it all.
If I had the kind of money needed to have my ultimate commodore computer collection I don't think my collection could be complete without a c65 or an Amiga 3000+ (AAA powered prototype) and I would prolly pay silly money to get a working version of each.
Well, this is a bit of a surprise. This eBay seller usually wants the top end of the market for his Amiga gear. This one seem quite reasonable considering you get just about everything you'll need to upgrade a stock A2000 along with the disk and manual for the accelerator.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/GVP-68030-22mhz-Accelerator-for-Amiga-2000-2000HD-2500-NewTek-Video-Toaster-/281095516572?pt=US_Vintage_Computers_Mainframes&hash=item417299319c
I used to have an A2000 with this accelerator. It was a nice board.
seems kind of expensive for 22mhz...I have one and is not a DRACO, maybe is based on it, but definitely not a DRACO. It doesn't run any Amiga software.
how about a Draco :) seems pretty reasonably priced, but I don't know much about them :)

seems kind of expensive for 22mhz...
I think mine was 40mhz and I had the ram fully populated. I got something like $180 for it. I meant reasonable for this seller, not reasonable in the absolute. Having the original manual and disk adds something to the value but not as much as 3 gvp simms.

Speaking of Macbooks, why there are so many of them that are cracked and abused???
Must have been a typo on that one.....it now shows buy it now of $450, starting bid $350Better, but still too much.

Don't be silly ... one law for the vip's and one for everyone else
I have been selling a few things in eBay lately, and there is strange phenomena I just don't understand... why do people get into bidding wars (or bid at all) days before the auction ends?
Wait, stored in a box? And this is why it's so hard for the rest of us to find good, cheap hardware, LOL. ;)
While reading some of these posts and looking at the auctions, this question popped in my head: What's the most insane Amiga auction that's been seen? - What was the item and what was the insane price??
The most insane auction I seen recently was a Picasso IV and some of it's modules that sold separately for 1655 EUR!
.

I seriously consider letting my CBM A4000T go. I think that if it sells through eBay you would see an insane auction also.Amiga 1000 auction sold for over $9000, Insane!
Amiga 1000 auction sold for over $9000, Insane!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Commodore-Amiga-1000-Factory-Sealed-NOS-/310640574635?pt=US_Vintage_Computers_Mainframes&hash=item48539f00ab
I still think that auction was rigged.
What if it is not? What if now all Amiga systems are worth minimum $10k? What if my Amiga 1200 is worth $20k? Can you imagine the profit I will be making.Wishful thinking, but good thinking.
Guess 3000T, PPC got pulled ... wonder if someone was dealing behind the scenes. Seen that happen several times now :hammer:
I had the Cybervision PPC on my watch list. The seller probably got a fat offer for the combo through eBay messaging. It was nice, including the documentation.
The ultimate A4000T is just one of many things the fraudsters list when a seller account gets hacked, mostly vintage fender and gibson guitars. I saw something on TV about a place in Romania where the hackers targetting eBay operate. Could be the source of this.
Don't know but the English he used was very American mid-west.

No, the idiot is the buyer; but with free shipping for a page torn from a magazine, it may be a bargain.
It kills me how much adverts and catalogs sell for. I wonder if free shipping on the page will include an envelope large enough to ship it without being damaged or just tri-folded into an envelope.

From the HDD you can tell that it is attached to a A2090 MFM/SCSI controller, and the far right card is a KitchenSync card without the cables/connectors. I'm guessing there is an accelerator card in there too. Granted all that and the control and connector box for the KitchenSync come with it, it might fetch $600+.

Anyone feel pity and want to sell me theirs? :P
I hate those type of people who think that others are far to stupid as to PAY.
GREED some people over rate what they have, its a sick world we live in.
Ask a reasonable price yes of course but some of the prices are just plain GREEDY.
I don't invest emotionally in the issue. On the one hand I know that most of these peoples' greed will not be rewarded as reasonable people will ignore the auctions, though there will be a couple of suckers, mostly people of the same caliber as the seller.
On the other hand, I am disappointed to know that some of these people throw tantrums when no one gives into their absurd asking prices and simply destroy the equipment.
Over all, though, people who are not simply delusional and legitimately scam like this do not gain monetary richness and remain morally bankrupt.

No, she shot me and I still had to get online and retract the bid, and then clean the blood off the floor and keyboard.
Wait..that was you who have put 2,500 for the card and you retracted your bid? If so, did you change your mind because of the posting here in the forum saying that with that money you could have bought X1000 over an old and outdated technology like that PPC card?
Nah, you're confusing me with someone else. And I was joking anyway. The rumours of my death were greatly exaggerated.
I saw it when it was at $2k already. Didn't place a bid. I reckon Id pay $900 though. But that would be my limit.
Wow, it's back up there in price again, less than a day left now, seriously if it's one of you guys bidding on this thing send me a PM and I am sure we can get you set up with something for a lot less money

Sorry, ain't got no 060 @ 66 Mhz ! I do however think a $600 - $700 price for that seems fair :)
Don't think you will get $400 for your 040 @ 25 Mhz though :(
This card does not work, you can buy a working card at this price & faster too.

Somebody asked recently why doesn't anyone post the good deals they find on ebay? Well today I picked up this from a guy only about 30 miles from my house. Loaded A2000, monitor, and a box full of stuff that I haven't even had time to dig though yet, but I know at least it contains a SuperGen and some other hardware bits. All for $131 and a nice drive out to the country. :) Now I'm sure all the European users are laughing about that, but Amiga's are so rare in my area, this was a great deal that I got on a second-chance offer when the original winning bidder bailed on the shipping charges. Maybe I'll post another pic or two after I inspect the battery and dig through the box.
Did I need it? No. But I sure wanted to rescue it! ;)

I'm curious about the monitor. I've always wanted one of those models again in good working condition. Must be harder and harder to keep these old CRTs working at this point in time though. Weren't these notorious for the cold solder joints or something like that? I suppose every CRT will require re-soldering at various stages due to the high voltages.
Yo Mike... get a chance to go thru the box of stuff yet? Gee, those two floppy drives were worth the $$ alone! I recently got a great deal on a 68060@50MHz CPU for $52.00 on ebay (yea, it's the real thing). So, I'm going to do the mod to my Blizzard 2040 board. Just gotta source the 1N4001 surface mount diodes. Then I'm on my way to killer 3.1ROM A2000 machine like yours with a Mechy SCSI reader! :)
Yes sir, correct on all the above. Also the power button switch tends to go (you can sometimes still source replacements from sources like Jameco), and the hinges on the monitor flap, especially on the 1084S, people kind of abuse many of those. :/
I've gotten so many of the 1084's and 1084S's in the past year or so, just from the few lots of Amiga goodies I've managed to snag around here. Ironically I don't even use them since I put Indivisions in my systems, they kind of become paperweights and things to trip over in my office, haha. Gave a couple to another member on the forum here, and sold a couple others on ebay when nobody else seemed interested, etc.
Let me test this one out and think about it for a bit, and if you're still interested in this one I'll send you a PM!
Every TV repairman is eager to repair old TVs and monitors: no SMDs, easy to replace capacitors, no imbedded processors. All they can do with modern equipment is swap out boards IF they can find a replacement. But a CRT that has lasted 30 years will likely last another.
Darned kids these days, don't know anything about repairing older technology. Good luck with that, hope you find some old fella who hasn't retired yet! :(

What did he do? I was just barely thinking a black Amiga 4000D would be awesome, since I just saw that CD32 that had a black keyboard. But I can't tell if this guy's case has some sort of plastic wrapping on top of it (kind of looks that way) but you can see where a monitor sat for a long time and left a mark.
Oddly, if it's just the 040 card, I have one sitting in my closet, but it is hard to tell if there is battery damage. Plus, I already have one, which after making it less loud, and soon I should be getting my IDE killer soon, it's right where I want it :D
That CD32 for 2800 bucks... It seems I've seen 4000Ts going for about that much with everything in them.

Wow, that unit has one of the most powerful CPU's ever designed, what a steel . . . .
Steal?

Yes folks; this a sale of the ASCII version, not the common IBM EBCDIC version!
A once is a lifetime deal for a rare ASCII keyboard!
Being a US version, it won't work on PAL systems, and you Canadians are SOL too, as it won't spell "Color" as "Colour."
I got one of those where no kickstart disk is needed, I was told the mod was most likely done by the dealer, I still have to investigate it further :)
If it's just KS1.3 split across 4 eproms then it's should be quite easy to replicate i'd have thought? I can see any physical mods on the MB.
Is it possible to split KS3.1 across four ROMs for a 1000?
yep, WinHex would do it, that's pretty much how you make two physical roms for an a1200 or a4000 from a single rom file. Just need to know which eproms are compatible and work out what address to split them at.

EDIT: Hmm, more info here - looks like you also need to bridge W2 & W4 which is easy.

Nope, still alive!
Don't know the Picasso iv seller, but I suspect there's some relation to the Amiga lounge. What are the chances that both just happen to have the same prototype sound card???
VEEEEEERY Interesting!
Pretty sure it had a Picasso IV card in it and one of the accompanying modules :) Part of the reason why it went so high, kinda sucks though if the Picasso don't work !
Three loaded A2000's went for under $600, or under $200 a pop. Somebody got themselves a pretty sweet deal! I would've bid in on this, except for one thing: how much space they would take up!
Damn, I live in the wrong country! :(
Damn, I live in the wrong country! :(
That's what you get for standing on your head! :roflmao:
Sadly, it did have a CyberStormPPC, CyberVisionPPC in it a few weeks ago.
The CVPPC is listed separately, and a very dead CSPPC is available if someone is interested. When I bought the CSPPC a while back I was warned that the PPC side didn't start up all the time. I never had a moment of trouble with it. I ordered and installed OS4.1FE a few weeks ago and ran it for about a week solid. The SCSI chip failed, then the PPC and finally the whole board died. I moved the CVPPC, the 060 and the RAM to another board, they are tested and work great.
Check out the other items I have listed as well. I have a Hydra Systems Amiganet NIC for sale and a Merlin RTG board and an RBM ONBoard 4000/Towerhawk rig too. Sold my A3660 (A3640 with 060 conversion) boards, sold my other A4000s - this is the last machine to go.
Never ever thought I'd see one of these Sound Cards; - Goodness me! :)

Holy crap, for the price I expected it to be decked out in upgrades, PPC, etc. But no, it's an A4000D. Pretty much exactly like I bought a few years back for 400 bucks, though this one looks like it is cleaner than mine was, still need to whiten mine up a bit.
But still...

Holy crap, that is a bit surprising. That's going to be at least $2,250 in Canadian $. It's a good time to be selling stuff from Canada, enjoy the haul! I bought a very similar A4000D locally advertised for $60 a few years ago - I offered $80 because I thought he was selling it too cheap. Feeling pretty good about that purchase right now :)
I do wonder when the market for these machines will crash as we all die off, apparently not yet!
Oh yeah, I seen it when it wasn't sold yet. Then I thought to myself, buy this to make one of my 500's a 1200 ... what am I thinking .. I am getting better at hoard control

Here's another example of a person with no business using a computer. Zod Almighty!! How many A1200's does he have in that thing?
So many assumptions made in one post.
I could be rude back but I wont - I'll put it down to you not knowing that most developed nations don't leave their citizens at the mercy of their medical corporations.
Back at ya.
The most notable way the U.S. differs from other industrialized countries is the absence of universal health insurance coverage. Other nations ensure the accessibility of care through universal health systems and through better ties between patients and the physician practices that serve as their medical homes.
Unfortunately, many still equate “universal healthcare” with “Government run” or “single payer” healthcare. It isn’t
I'll just leave this here:
http://www.forbes.com/sites/danmunro/2014/06/16/u-s-healthcare-ranked-dead-last-compared-to-10-other-countries/
Don't think I'm some sort of commie, i'm not - I have private health care here in Aus cause I can afford it (every one making more that $50k p/a is encouraged too, otherwise you pay a yearly levy).
Just yesterday I took my 2 year old boy into a private hospital for a minor operation and thanks to our health insurance it cost us Zero dollars.
If we weren't well off the same operation would have been still free, we'd have just gone to a public hospital and had to wait a couple of months instead (it was elective surgery).
Ladies and gentlemen,
Can we please get back on topic?
Or should the mods consider closing this particular thread?
I think it said somewhere you can fit an A1200 + a full PC motherboard in there simultaneously. Zod is right! ;)
The biggest problem you guys have in the U.S.A. Is that your gov is no longer representing the people, the corporations have completely corrupted your democracy. See the TPP etc as an example of the gov negotiating for corporations, not people. These are the same corporations who do their absolute best to not pay their fair share of taxes in the U.S.A.
Ps it's happening here in Australia too, our conservative gov is trying to bend us over and Roger is hard atm on all sorts of things!
You know, anytime someone from another country starts his or her statement with "the biggest problem you have in the USA" the hair on the back of my neck stands up and I brace myself for an unrealistic assessment handed down by a foreign media or government which does everything it can to show how superior that country is to the US.
But you hit the nail right on the head and drove it deep. We have a government which rules in absolute opposition to its people, and the members of that government minimize, harass, libel, slander, and pretty much pull every dirty propaganda trick in the book against any of the people who rise in opposition. Hence all the misinformation against several of the popular citizen movements, the largest, and most maligned, of which is the Tea Party movement.
Anyway, none of this is why we're here at AO. :pint:
There's still a few minutes to go and it's now gone insane with bids! :(

Okay, is that an '030 under the heat-sink, because this 530 seems to be missing the "30" part.
I never knew these had IDE and SCSI on them. That's pretty impressive.
yeah it's only got a 68k on it and is indeed missing the 030 from the section on the board designed for it.
The '030 is under the heatsink. They're all like that, look at the pic on Amiga Hardware Database.

The last one I can kind of see, as it at least has an 060, is a 4000T (which actually are rare, unlike a A3000 zorro board), but that's till probably a bit on the high end. If these were normal prices for A4000Ds, I should be able to sell mine for 8k, since I have an 060, Radeon, mediator, etc... Right? anyone want to buy my A4000D for 8k? :D

Does it come with a real F-19?
(No that would be 10,000,000,000 pounds)
Shipping for that would be horrendous.
Perhaps it is a brother of Dr. Evil who is selling an F-19 to blow up the world? I guess the £ means he is living in the UK...

I'll 'fess up. The last one was me. In my defense, besides the 4000T that actually was well packed and arrived safely, I got 5 big cases of hardware and software included that so far has all checked out as working. 3 AD516s, 2 Toccatas and 2 Picasso IVs alone made it worthwhile - at least to me.
Of course they say rationalization is a great defense mechanism so what do I know :)
Well, here's my contribution to crazy eBay listings - even too crazy for me :)

Dayyyyuumm! That's nice! :D
Talking about crazy eBay prices, this isn't in the same league of the F-19, but what's with the prices people are asking for Competition Pro joypads for CD32? I've been seeing buy it now prices of $159USD to over $250USD!
Have they really gotten that rare or in demand?

wow if that sells then I'll be rich:rofl: well to be honest I don't plan on selling my A1000 for as long as I can still have the health to use her regularly which God willing is still a looong time so then it's probably better to say my kids will be rich when they sell mine many many many years from now ;-)
More likely all our Amiga's will end up in land fill once we're gone, unless we can get our children obsessed with them.

God, what a jack ass. I picked up two units when they were going for about $89 each some time ago. I still have one unopened. I would never presume to get $500 for it. Maybe not even $100, honestly.
Ha, I'd consider buying that off you. I've kind of been wanting one, and for some weird reason I haven't been able to get my A4000D to play CD32 games successfully. I actually have wanted to get one of the controllers, though I heard the original boomerang was kind of crap.

http://ebay.com/itm/272280772086
This isn't a particular, single auction but a general crazy auction that I just don't understand. All the auctions I see trying to sell magazine cover floppies. I just don't get it.
Why would anyone pay any amount of money, even 1 cent, for a 20+ year old floppy disk that might never have worked even when it was originally bought because of the trip through the mail with heat, rain, etc. Not to mention, it's a TWENTY PLUS year old floppy! Floppies under the best of conditions can fail in less time than that.
What's the point? I think pretty much every cover disk is available for download. Are there actually collectors that are completionist enough that they have to have an original cover disk, whether it works or not?
I'm not sure of the generations of CD32 controllers. I've always preferred them when playing games on my Amigas (kicked ass at Deluxe Galaga.)
But I won't be selling mine any time soon. I plan to keep it as a gift to my grandson when he's old enough to play. Later he'll get one of my Amigas, as well, just as his mother.
Update! It sold for over $400. Wow! This gives me hope on selling my A500. I just need to shine it up a bit.
On a side note, who would think an A500 would sell for about what a basic A1200 goes for? I know, A1200s are harder to come by.
Okay, I wouldn't actually call this a "crazy eBay posting" at all but it is.....exceptional:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Commodore-AMIGA-500-RESTORED-UPGRADED-1MB-CHIP-FAT-AGNUS-POWER-SUPPLY-MOUSE-REV6-/152177626783?hash=item236e7e4e9f:g:CZwAAOSwbYZXeGR0
So if I turbo-wash my A500 and replace some caps, I can almost get $400? Not bad. I think my trapdoor RAM expansion is even better. I need to get to work on this...
Oh, but my power switch does not have a light on it. Darn.

LOL it's listed as "For parts, not working". Then in the description says "working according to previous owner". No risk there at all.
Have you seen his other items? Games that cost hundreds of euros.
If I was stinking rich I'd still not pay his prices as a matter of principle.

Apologies about the $400 motherboard. It was a typo and has been corrected.

SuperCard Pro went for $406 USD?! You can buy new for $100.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/201762655196
It was probably like $100 for the card and $306 for the 3D printed case ;)

(Shakes head).
A lot of this stuff is pretty rare in the US, but given the sorry state of this collection (and poor photos), it's hard to tell what exactly a buyer would be getting. I'd imagine this is some old geezer who's been hoarding this stuff for years, with now failing health, realizes you "can't take it with you", and wants get some money for his grandkids, or something.
Eh, no interest, really, I just sometimes like to imagine the lives of people who sell stuff like this. :D
Hey Pat, I was being sarcastic. I might give $500 for the lot, if that.
 Do people pay that much for scrap in the USA?
OK, the Appelle 2 and Mac Classic are iconic like the A1000. Even so, that is just silly money.
I have a Macintosh SE30, I wonder how much I could fetch for it.
$200 - 800(mint) rough estimate.
Ah yes, the highly coveted and rare SX32. But that is a ridiculous price.
I wish the Apollo Team would do an FPGA expansion for the CD32.
Kipper2k has said in a few threads that he wants one for the CD32. I don't know if the team is thinking of doing one - the CD32 would probably be the smallest audience - but if anyone can convince the team to make one, I wouldn't think anyone could be a more effective advocate than him. A couple of times he's sounded pretty adamant.
He said it wouldn't be that difficult since the expansion connector on the CD32 and the trapdoor expansion on the 1200 are essentially the same other than the physical connector.
Personally I think a CD32 with a Vampire accelerator would be just about ideal. Sure it doesn't have a keyboard built in but connecting one is easy. It's fairly small so easily portable, already has a CD drive built in, AGA with S-video if you didn't want to use RTG for some reason and I think it has the greatest free volume where the Vampire would be so cooling should be less of an issue.
What would be really cool would be if they could do something like the Paravision SX-1 that plugged into the expansion connector and let you plug the FMV cartridge into the SX-1. I know it's only Mpeg1 / VCD so it wouldn't have the video quality of Riva say but it would offload the processing from the Vampire. Maybe? I don't know enough to know if it could work that way but I can't help but think that that would be super exciting :)

6900 for an Amiga 1000. :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::rofl::rofl::rofl:
Couldnt resist sending a PM (amusing to some element)
see below
Me:
Can i have it for what its worth?
Seller
If you own this, how much would you price it at?
Me:
Depends on if it has everything included it came with. Manuals, boxes, software. Ebay has a search option which will show for how much similar items recently sold. Your offer is unfortunately factor 10 above that.
Seller:
s.
Not talking about what ebay or anyone says it is worth. Asking you if you had this, what would you price it at?
Me:
500
Seller:
You don't have much respect for your Amiga.
Me:
It cost 4000 when it was new ;)
I am not greedy, no.
Seller:
You are still not being honest. Not asking what you want to buy it at. $6900 is not greed. $10690 might be. $100690 would be. Get real.
:rtfm:
no wonder this country is going down the drain

No Amiga 1000 on site to test printer.
Oh really? What's this then? https://ebay.com/itm/151426013460
Well, obviously its the Amiga 1000 that pushes the entire package (with printer) to over $10,000.
Not doubt, IF you offered him his price, he might be willing to test them (or SAY he did). ;-)
Why don't YOU go for it?
I get enough crazy reading posts about Gunnar's projects to take this too seriously.

"blisteringly fast and does true multi-tasking, something Windows STILL cannot do!"
HA! Still cannot do, if you're using Windows 3.1 still I suppose. That quote and the price really made me laugh.

This hasn't hit the "crazy" level yet but the current bid is unexpected:

This amount for a stock A1200, KS 3.0, and no mention of recapping or motherboard rev?
Perhaps because it is a PAL unit?
I may just have to put up my NTSC A1200. It is cleaner than this one. :D
Oh yeah:lol:
That one is mine sir. No mention of recapping because as far as I know it hasn’t been. At least I am besting others by including power supply and mouse.
Did get it from a long time amiga fan and user in England.
Go ahead, test the waters.
Now approaching $400. Wow.
Please ask the winning bidder if there was something specific he was drawn to about this item. :D
Last I checked they were maxing out around $200. Did not think a stock config would be in that much demand.
@gizmo350
I will probably do fleaBay also if I decide to put mine up. I will then probably turn around and try to find a PAL model also. I am finding more reasons why it is a better way to go.
You can't even get a nice condish stock A500 for $200 now. These Amiga machines are selling for mad money lately. If you're looking on eBay, you really have to do your homework (if you're gonna mod an A500 best get a rev6a board). I can't even get a decent shape empty A500 case for less than $100 now. I also need a nice condish A500 keyboard which will probably set me back at least $50.
And with these new TerribleFire accelerators, the A500 is selling like hotcakes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yC2vx_fJy8
The A1200 is so hot these days 'cause, well, it's an A1200! I'm pretty much describing peeps that "are in the know" though. I laugh sometimes when a noob picks up an A1200 and asks "now what?". Yeah, nooby, all these Amiga add-ons are gonna COST you! :roflmao:
I recently found a brand new 21" W/S Gateway LCD in my stash and tried my NTSC A500 with the C= 23pin to 15pin VGA adapter on it and found it syncs down to 15Khz. I'm suddenly a fan of NTSC machines!
I've gone through my A500 phase and have settled on the A1200 footprint now. And, it makes the most sense to stick with a PAL version. I am thinking my NTSC model will not fetch as much.
I had a 37" Sharp LCD HDTV from 2005. I was surprised to learn that it synched down to 15Khz also and even did a fantastic job with interlaced screens. The only problem is it did not like PAL and I have a lot of PAL software. :D
I've gone thru my A1200 phase extensively, and have had a few A500's sitting around for years. Now I'm going in that direction.
Well, it's all good fun, yes? Anyhoo, keep me in mind...
Again...guys need to list model #’s with these things so others can perhaps enjoy some flat screen goodness..
Ahhh, Sorry, had posted here last week..... :)

I think I'll auction off the packing tape from my Amiga purchases in little 1" squares for $10.00 each!
Wow, check this out, esp. the description. Of course I've seen the video of Amiga's used at NASA, but this is something a bit more unique. :)
And Punkyclown is about to clean up in Amiga town!

That poor A500 looks like it needs to be rushed to the ER.
"Give me 100cc of isopropyl alcohol, stat!"
"I also need some gauze, and let's prep OR2 for plastic surgery!"
"Hang in there little buddy, we got you."
I bought an a4000D empty box from EBay Maybe 10 years ago or so. When I moved the A4000 that I bought it for I believe it got me my money back and then some. You rarely see the boxes for sale because people who keep them want them and everyone else throws them out when they buy the computer. I would love to acquire an A3000T box but have never seen one for sale.

Apparently this was refurbished and recapped. What did they use? A MIG welder?
Mine looks pristine compared to that

$500 for "rare" A3000 motherboard that's missing RAM, Buster, Agnus and maybe the SCSI chips. Seriously?

Same guy is selling a 3000T motherboard in original box for $1K..
https://www.ebay.com/itm/122896571179?ul_noapp=true (https://www.ebay.com/itm/122896571179?ul_noapp=true)
Not to mention the boards are battery damaged. The Agnus alone is next to impossible to find for the A3000. The guy went to a storage unit auction and found those. Then went to the Amiga facebook group, asked for a "valuation" since he "knows nothing about the amiga" and got his head all filled with what the boards are "worth" by people there. The chips being removed is enough to make anyone think the boards are dead and were just kept after the chips were scavenged for another system.
EDIT: Looks like some fool spent $995 on the 3000T motherboard.
I made 3 offers on this, and he finally countered. eBay doesn't show you what the final price was - we settled on $500.
It took me a few days but I managed to get it to work and as a result now have a fully functioning 3000T again - worth every penny. :)
The damage report: it had two broken traces where the battery was (D9, D15 signals to the ROM), two blown fuses on the +5 outputs for the joystick and DB23, was missing a Paula and all zip ram which I filled in, Denise was inserted incorrectly, missing the SCSI controller chip. It also had the 8375 Agnus which doesn't allow the pal/ntsc jumper so I replaced that too. I also gave it 3.1 ROMs.
The 3000T motherboard... might be worth it. ;) Although the guy does say he's taking offers.
Well I hope my 4000T motherboards are worth more than that :).

Lucky I bought my 4000T From a guy that either lived next to or worked for SoftwareHut in 1998 or so. CSMKIII, CV64 3D, Toaster flyer, High speed serial/parallel card, Full memory, Usb and soundcard for $1000.

those 3000 and 3000T boards are from a local seller here. They got sold in a huge lot of things that were posted in the facebook group. He paid $500 for all of it and its all trashed.
Do you think he's capable of pulling an amber out of the socket? I was going to make him an offer for just that chip. I just don't want to spend money and end up with a damaged chip... already have one. I contacted one seller that sells amiga gear, among other vintage computer equipment, and they offered to sell me their last amber for $120... shipping included. nice.
Ha, saw this one up there, while not an Amiga...

Does this have Steve Jobs' soul in it or something? For that price...
Well it does have "original yellowing", something I always look for in my retro purchases, that aftermarket yellowing just doesn't cut it :-).
Yeah, that's what I mean though, people had bid up to £375 for an 030 accelerator with 4mb!
Can it run Crysis? :o
