It is fine, so there's no reason to avoid ZorRAM :-)
As mentioned, only DMA operation is affected, no matter which card it is (A4091, Fastlane Z3, DENEB,...). But DENEB can operate with PIO, so you're fine.
So Deneb Z3 PIO + ZorRAM + A4000T SCSI = okay?

I think I need to start a band called "Deneb and the Different Busters."
3 Commodore file cabinets, 2 Commodore USB turntables, 1 AmigaWorld beer mug
Alienware M14x i7 laptop running AmigaForever

Well, believe me for the hardware designer Buster can be a real trouble maker... especially DMA is something really tricky...

I can answer this question as soon as I have my A4000T running again. It suffered a little bit while replacing the capacitors (already planned for quite some time)...

Will there be any performance penalty with these workarounds ?

"but I also think about a real fix on DENEB for enabling several busmasters on Buster 11 "

It's the only reason holding me from getting a Deneb. Though I think that if such an amount of logic is derived from Buster to Deneb maybe you could use that in some kind of multiple DMA enabled ZIII/PCI bridge. It would be the only one in the market (Mediator in NOT true DMA).

No. In case of "no fix, but Buster hangs" you will wait forever, in case of "fix, Buster gets resync'ed" you may lose about 2us due to the DENEB rescue operation. So you win :-)

Or better, replace Buster with fpga like the Indivision does for Denise but with cables to a PCI solution. Fast PCI + ZIII would be sweet.

@Michael

Great. Please let us know when and if the fixes are available:) If hardware modification is needed I prefer to wait and get an upgraded version.

Hello,

I've installed the great DENEB on my AMIGA:
- A3000D 030@25Mhz + 2MB CHIP + 4MB FAST;
- KS3.1 / OS3.9 / HDD 100MB SCSI;
- USB multicard reader;
- DENEB (with lastest firmware);
- Buster 07 (and not 09);
- all others cards were removed !
- MUI 3.9 installed;

All perfect until the WB screen:
- my Compact Flash card appears as expected, but soon as I double-click on icon: my computer freeze, as the mouse.
I also have the crash of 'TRIDENT' when I try to run it (MUI is installed): with ou without the DENEB on ZORRO port.

When I move the Deneb jumper to Zorro-2 position: my USB LED multicard reader is OFF :(

Thank you for helping me.

Also tested on my A3000(T) with BUSTER 11: I can't see the virtual drive "DenebInstall". Please how to reset my DENEB to install it as the begining ? Thx.

The problem was half solved:
- works ONLY with DENEB jumper in RESCUE mode;
- with LUCIFERIN: I choose QUICK SETUP/POSEIDON USB";
- I change TOOLTYPES of TRIDENT software: "REGISTERMODE" + "SAVE";
- I create a false "TRIDENT.cfg" at "envarc:mui/";
- TRIDENT software crach anyway but I can use a part of it :crazy:
- I make a save: after this TRIDENT software crach definitivly and I must reboot :confused:
- after reboot I launch TRIDENT software and I make a RESTART: all USB device are recognized :biglaugh:
- after reboot: all USB devices are recognized at start :)

But I must stay in RESCUE mode!!!
Please, if I forgot something: HELP ME. Thank you

USB device recognized:
- USB Keyboard - T'nB - ACK-2080UM (100mA);
- Multicard reader "RYVAL" USB2 - ALL-in-1 Card Reader;
- USB TenKey Pad (with 2ports HUB): USB numerical pad => can't have correct caracters;
- ARCHOS Gmini 400 (HDD 20GB);
- HAMA (46945) 8-in-1 Card Reader;

But I must stay in RESCUE mode!!!

I have similar problems. Did you try starting MuForce before Poseidon? It greatly improves stability in my A3000D.

Please have a look at:
http://aminet.net/package/util/libs/MMULib

I could not figure what goes wrong without MuForce, neverthless installing it fixed (most) crashes for me.

I'll try in few hours (the night was short for me: thank DENEB :) )...I read on other thread that it will be very nice if the CPU cache are OFF.
Thank you strim.
