28MHz Supraturbo accel. in A2000 problem
« on: February 23, 2003, 07:38:03 AM »
I have an A2000, with a GVP Impact Series 2 SCSI card, with a 180 Meg SCSI HD and 2*4Megs ram= 8 meg. on it. I am using AOS 1.3.3.

I put in a 28MHz Supraturbo accelerator into it. I have a SW prg that starts it.

Problem: every time I put it into 28MHz mode, it seems to work fine, BUT any access to the HD in 28MHz mode causes it to crash. Copy file from HD to ram, or run prg from HD, even reading a dir, will in short order crash it. Luckily I never tried saving anything before using it and finding out the bad news.

It has a switch that hangs on the outside, so that I can put it into 28MHz mode on boot up. If I put it into 28MHz before I start it, it won't boot.

Amiga! Love 28MHz, but can't use 28MHz.

So I guess that A500, 600, 1000, 2000, CDTV, CD32, are pure garbage then? Thanks for posting here.

Check your jumper settings.

Also try HDInstTools (hdinst.lha) from Aminet, great HDtoolbox replacement.
