Not to me an *ss, but doesn't anyone think that the Sam will follow all the other "new" systems that came before? EG: BE, Amigaone etc,? Its great now, but don't you think in a year or so it will be just another passing fad?
Don't PC motherboards last on the market for only a year or so as well? So long as there is a (more powerful) successor to the SAM 440 board avaliable when/if the SAM 440 is discontinued, it's all good.
EDIT* I am not trying to troll her, I am just asking a question, that I am wondering about. All of the above mention systems may be great, but very few people actually have them. Can the SAM hold the test of time?
Why don't you buy one and find out first-hand. ;-)
Seriously, it makes no sense for people to hold off buying because they're worried that they might not be available a year from now. If you want one, get one now; you won't regret it. If they do go off the market and there's no new motherboard to take its place, well, you still have your SAM 440 to run Amiga OS 4.x on.
