OMG, has things gone that far? And ssolie has taken up the "AmigaOS Development Team Lead"? Well the signs are stacking up...

Who is ssolie and what happened to the Friedens and Steffen Haeuser?  I haven't really been keeping up with things OS4-related so I'm probably hopelessly out of date.  Did they retire or something?

In order to gain access to the source you're undoubtedly required to sign a non-disclosure agreement and a non-compete clause.

Well, even though there weren't any NDA, seeing the source code or even the comments is enough to say you will copy it so... ;)

Just like a lot of people (you included) noticed "CBM hero accuses MorphOS of being illegal" two weeks ago and it suddenly had a lot more weight than the 500 times it had been claimed by other people in the past.

These claims had been circulating for 10 years. It had been a long time they had resurfaced, and I was quite disappointed to learn that Mr Haynie was the one to bring it up again. I decided to challenge him to produce the evidence and none was presented. Any further such claims without proof can now be easily discredited as FUD that they are. This new situation is way better than such claims going unchallenged.

Now that this is settled: I wanted to explain why I consider AmigaOS dead in the current path and form. If I had to spell out some uncomfortable facts to do that, so be it.

and installing various 68k components to get even the basic functionality one might expect (say console with review buffer).

Say console and stop, there are no other 68k component used except this.
Other modules (such USB2) are in betatesting and yes betatesting does not mean they will be never released and i'm quite sure you know very well how it works as after 1.4.5 MorphOS 2.0 developed took 3 years to be released to end users

But i'm sure you never ending your personal war againts anythings OS4 related

AmigaOS might want me, but I don't want AmigaOS.

@ samo79

Come on, the USB2 drivers have been in beta for *years* - that's embarrassing from a development standpoint, and intolerably frustrating from a user standpoint. They should at least have them into use-at-your-own-risk public beta by now.

I want to love OS4, but the project management behind it isn't filling me with confidence.

There's a lot of bad things one could say about the performance of various AmigaOS4 developers in internet forums. But they never make public statements about MorphOS or AROS, let alone negative statements.

That's a good thing, you know.

No they leave that to Hyperion management.

Well, MOS 1.x does certainly. Is there a version of 2 that runs on PowerUP boards?

No and there won't be one.
And has anyone tried to download 1.X recently.
That link doesn't appear to work.

Who is ssolie

Here is a little introduction of him, and the well-renomed "professional behavior" of OS4 developers:

You are repeating this broken record since 2005. Keep going on if that makes you happy.

Thanks!

So how are you enjoying the X1000 you won last July?

hmm I wonder why very few AmigaOS4.x users are visiting this site:rolleyes:

Piru, I love you man because, as I stated numerous times, at least you're consistent BUT this thread obviously doesn't concern or interest you so why do you insist on posting in it:confused:  Do you personlly have soemthing against Mr. Solie perhaps ?

Now how would you feel if the thread title was 'MOS wants you !' & every second post was some bloke who has absolutely no interest in MOS posting FUD on the thread.

As numerous other people in this thread I explained why I am not interested. Why certain individuals took exception to what I said, I don't know.

How were why posts FUD?

If someone would post in that thread explaining why he wouldn't be interested I'd have no issues with that.

When people have a negative opinion or fact regarding Hyperion or OS4, it's refered to as FUD. FUD stands for Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt.

Cheers for that Jorkany... :)

Could never figure that one out, thought it was some kind of swear words but I could never get anything to match up with the letter "U"... :)

well one example is:

"Now that this is settled: I wanted to explain why I consider AmigaOS  dead in the current path and form. If I had to spell out some  uncomfortable facts to do that, so be it."

again I would ask that you start a new thread stating why you think 'AmigaOS is dead in the current path and form' and to kindly leave this thread be ..of course unless you want to help Mr. Solie out with AmigaOS4.2;)
