Im just curious about the sam440 board, are here any sam440 users in this community? do you use it with CruxPPC Linux or FreeBSD? how does it work?

there are some new screenshots with sam440 running ubuntu and Aros. Looks very promising.

If I ever wanted a Sam440 it would have to run OS4. If I wanted to run Ubuntu or AROS I would use my PC; faster and cheaper.

So what really is the point of the Sam440?

Maybe OS4 was the reason why this board was manufactured in the first place, but the amiga inc versus hyperion court case kind of blow it??

This is a great looking board and can solve many problems for us:

A) Lack of Amiga compatible hardware
B) Lack of OS4 compatible hardware
C) Reliance on aging machines
D) Bring in new blood to the community (more developers)

It's kind of ironic that the projects with the most "promise" and "progress" are homewbrew in nature like Mini-MIG.

Thats true, there is only one thing that keeps me from buying it, the high price  :-)
