As the AmiBench code monkey (cheers, Mark :), I've been looking over your
suggestions.

So far, I'm going to implement the following features:
- user accounts (need to be verified with a VALID email address)
- automatic/human ad moderating
- user ratings
- currency conversion
- all responses go through AmiBench - real email addresses never displayed
- nice moderator/administrator tools
- in-depth user logging
- viewing preferences (ads since last visit, ads since last week, etc)

Possible features:
- a third "help required" section
- picture uploads (server space permitting)

If you have any more (constructive!) ideas, either post them here or email me
at neil@amibench.org.

Cheers,
Neil Caunt

One thing I would like to see is that its kept simple, like it and ANN still are. I like the quick loading and easy naviagtion that is there now.

Add a section just so people can sell/trade pirate software or add a Warez section in your forums.

I have to agree that Auctions aren't a good thing, at least for Amibench.
What I would like to see though is a search feature, so that I could look for say, an a590 without having to go through the listings and possibly miss it.
What would also be cool is a feature whereby I could ask Amibench to email me if a certain item came up, so that in the event that I couldn't find an a590, the ad posting script would scan messages for it, and mail me a link to the ad, giving me a good chance of getting in there before anyone else.
And the ability to edit ads, so if something sells, I can remove it, or mark it as sold, to stop me being deluged with offers for it.

I would like to see some of the hints-and-tips expanded and seperated into different pages.  Maybe even a few good external links on different subjects.  Such things as postal rates, international-postal rates, the time to expect for shipping from one place to another by different shippers.

That's about it from me.  Although, some of the other postings here have some really neat ideas!
Regards,
Targhan

;-) I would like to second SecretVampire's suggestion to add a search tool.  I've visited Amibench in the past, but not frequently, because it was difficult to determine whether the item I sought was present in any of the lots being offered.

Amibench has ALWAYS had a search tool! :)
Click on "for sale" till you get to the country selecting page, then scroll down slightly...

Admitedly it's not very obvious in a 800 x 600 screen..

The current search feature works brilliantly.
Good idea to have to have a notify feature though, which would email you if an add containing a certain keyword is posted, E.G. "Cyberstorm".

I have used Amibench frequently, and would welcome a feedback system. I would also like to see it optimised for Amiga users. I would also welcome either an FAQs type section or links to an existing one ( re the number of times I have seen assitance wanted on the wanted pages ). Generally, I am only interested in the stuff for sale, so the look is a bonus.
