Need help for repairing 30-pin ram boards
« on: April 09, 2018, 05:24:47 PM »
I tried to fix my faulty ram boards by replacing the 4Mbit DRAM chips but got no success :(
Should I replace the parity chips too? (in the cyan box)
There's one SMD under each chip too. Is it resistor or capacitor? and possible to test them?

Seems easy enough to replace.  At least for me anyway.

Sorry to ask this, but 30 pin simms are cheap and redily available, why you trying to fix them?

for example: http://www.memoryx.com/generic-memory-30-pin-simm.html

Ok, I'll try to replace the parity chips too but I thought Amiga doesn't care about parity

Unfortunately these rams are rare here and I need them to fill my GVP A2000 HC+8 =/

gvp cards use standard 30 pin simms like i posted in the links, they are not rare or special.
the card can use 8 chips simms,9 chip simms(parity) or the same u have.

I know but it's rare here and shipping costs so much.
It's easier for me to repair.
