FFmpeg + FFplay SVN-r22669 (25.03.2010) for AmigaOS 3.x
« on: March 26, 2010, 11:19:19 AM »
FFmpeg is a complete, cross-platform solution to record, convert and stream
audio and video.
FFmpeg can also convert from any sample rate to any other, and resize video on the fly with a high quality polyphase filter.

There is also FFplay multimedia player in the package.

Changes:

    Updated to the latest SVN
    - No more A/V sync problems when enough CPU power is available
    - New "framedrop" option to activate frame skipping
    - New decoders: Bink, IFF ILBM, Indeo 5, WMA Voice

Added new tooltypes and improved parsing of them

Added support for more error messages in the WB mode

    Fixed a few bugs

Hmm, no idea why. I just downloaded random flv file from youtube and it plays fine with all FFplay builds (_*040fpu/_*060fpu) here.

Maybe you can upload one of your problematic vids, so I can test it too.

But you must be more precise. What is a real problem?

1. FFplay can't play flv file at all? (if so which error message you get?)
2. FFplay is too slow on your machine?
3. Anything else?

If too slow, then I can't help you.

You are right. With the previous version, FFplay could not recognize the files at all. It gave the error message "unknown format"
With this version, the window of the video opens up, but stays at the first frame. No playback at all.

Edit: Wait. I tested the current version right now, and it plays the videos. I don't know why that happened in my previsous attempt. Ok then.
Btw, where the contents of the env directory should go? In Envarc: or Progdir?

If your files are copied from "envarc:" to "env:" at the startup, then copy them to "envarc:" only. In the other case copy them also to "env:".

There is no need to copy "ahi_minbufflen" variable on the real hardware AFAIK.

I've noticed that when playing flv files from youtube, skipping is quite slow. This doesn't happen on a seperate flv file or in 3gp and mp4 format.

And when playing files, it would be nice if ffplay looks in a user defined dir, where you have all the videos. Or remember the dir where you last played your videos.
