Interesting how assumptions play out with hypothesis validation.

The Blackel proposition would still be valid for older monitors though.

every computer should have power saving turned on
mine do and its cool that i can leave them on all the time using only a couple of watts of power and have them be back for use in just a couple of seconds

new laptop cpus throttle the cpu speed to save power, i think desktop cpus should as well.

of course i think every state in the us it is practical and other countries as well should have wind and water power. ny state produces quite a bit of wind power and several rivers, biggest being the niagra, produce electricity as well. the more power we produce cleanly the more our green appliances will help.

They do.  Well at least this Athlon 64 3200+ here does, and the Core2 Duo at work I use does too.
