The whole point of the disclaimer is to STOP people from spreading the info that the poster might not want to have pop up all over the place.

The "harm" that might arise is that new info will not be posted as the poster might feel he cannot "trust" the readers not to spread it about, as you (and others) have done.

It is understandable that you might want to share any new info, but in future could you think about what you are doing and ASK FOR PERMISSION before you post, Alan is not an ogre I`m sure he would have agreed.

Oh wel,l such is life.  :-)

Yes ask permission before posting  a link to Eyetechs laughable list of excuses.

We will also release pictures
of the dual G4 module (already with Hyperion) in early January. Developers

Does this mean that OS4.x will have dual CPU support ???

I don't think thats so much of an issue, He didn't actually post the data he posted a link to the source which is publically available.
Chill man you ain't done nothing wrong if Alan didn't want it public knowledge he wouldn't have posted it in a public place.

Of course its always nice if people do inform you about such things but its not like nettiquette is actually followed on the net and certainly never in the Amiga community. Compared to the *AHEM* news post on ANN I'm sure he'd be more than happy.

I got my Amiga One Today  :-D  :-D  :-D  :-D

But I'm waiting for Christmas to see if Santa brings me a nice new black tower - I have it on good authority he will.  ;-)

Also need the Linux CD's as I haven't got those yet. I wonder if they're on the eyetech site yet...

Merry Christmas  :-D

@yssing

Multi-processor aware OS4, who would have thought that?
We've come a long way from a 7.14MHz 68000 and a 0.5Mb of Chip RAM.

Im not asking permision for what is just a little bit of news ive paid for my amigaone like other people have there is nothing in this to cause any harm when you pay a high amount of money for something that was meant to be available in december and is now going to be end of january its nice to see some reason for the delay.And if i had asked, someone else would have posted it instead anyway im sure someone at amiga org must have checked it before allowing it to be displayed on the site and for the record its just a link i have not posted any imformation from whats on yahoo.so calm down lx-8 .

That's actually quite old news:

Ben Hermans/Hyperion wrote on 25-Apr-2002
09:20:44: "Yes, we will add multi-processing down
the line but we are still debating on whether this
should be SMP."

However I think they won't have much time for OS4.0
or 4.1 to do this as they first have to implement
those features for which they didn't have time for
OS4.0 (like printer support, new WB or OpenGL
support).

I don't see much point on happiness in this. They have goofed up on their productions shedules, are talking about new systems before old ones are working.

And that DualG4.. I could purchase one form Local Mac Store and annunce having one of those. Most people would never understand to question IF I do have any machine to put it on or any hope to have it running on next year or so. But what the heck, it would make nice news article  :-P  :-P  :-P

@JoannaK

Well why be happy when you could be sad and depressed...

Q:  Why would Motorola care about an microscopic company like Amiga?

Hint: there not!!!

So how could you actually make 100% rigid plans if the company which it all depends upon, at any given time can deside to diss you cause they have run short on supplys due to unexpected Apple/Mac demand?
