Can you put an Amiga 1200 with a Mediator in any tower case. Do I have to buy one just for this purpose. Any help would be great

Everything is possible, but it would be MUCH easier with Amiga targeted tower.

Another possibility is get just correct backplate, like this http://www.amibay.com/showthread.php?72490-Amiga-1200-Tower-Backplates-(Laser-cut)&highlight=backplate

There are also a 3 different towers on sale amibay just now. Price is about 230 euros.
