Recovering RAM
« on: November 29, 2022, 07:10:58 PM »
Hi All, Can someone tell me how to recover RAM that gets used in Programs but then
never comes back. I run software on my A1200 running OS3.2 with BestClassicWB installed.
And when I quit the program I only get half of my RAM back, if that. Is there an app or something
to retrieve this RAM? Thanks in advance for any help offered.

https://aminet.net/search?query=clearram - but they aren't too efficient due to Amiga memory system.

The shell command
Code: [Select]
avail flush should also clear up some RAM, but as zipper says there's only so much that can be done due to the structure of the Amiga's memory architecture. Using TLSFMem in conjunction with other methods might get you a bit further.
