Unreal Engine 4.10 .. how can we compile from linux src?
« on: December 02, 2015, 05:24:33 PM »
Was just finally successful in compiling Unreal Engine 4.10 for linux! Now this opens the door for AAA games to be built for linux and steamOS.  But my heart has always remembered amiga and I was just wondering if there is anyone that has tried to build unreal engine for the amiga?

I'd love to be able to deploy games for the amiga!

Just a thought.. any input?

Take care all!

Even the most powerful Amiga hardware is not that powerful compared to PC hardware, and also 3d stuff lags behind.
It normally ends with a one developer working on a impossible huge task, for no pay.

Get a NG Amiga and start compiling.
You'll find that a whole bunch of libraries or equivalents are missing. Code those or if you're not an Amiga C coder then you'll have to wait for someone else to do it.

Enjoy your linux gaming.

I believe we can start thinking to port stuff like that only once AmigaOS 4.2 will be released, with the Gallium 3D drivers integrated, which will allow to fully use the RadeonHD 3D capabilities.
AmigaOne XE - AmigaOS 4.1 - Freescale 7457 1GHz - 1GB ram

it might be easier to add an AmigaNG target so any version be it Windows/Mac/Linux could produce an Amiga executable.
