boot with A1200 HD
« on: October 29, 2010, 07:54:52 AM »
Hello All
I have an Amiga 1200 with a hard disk into...
When I boot, I can hear the disk starting, but after a few seconds, the "insert disk" animation cames up...
I have lost all my workbench disks....and all.
So what can I do? does some on have some hdtool boot disquette? Just to see If I can reformat the hd...
And then where can I bye some workbench disks?

Thanks a lot in advance

Have you tried a soft reboot after the A1200 has been on for a little while? It may be that the hard drive does not spin up quickly enough, so the Amiga thinks it has nowhere to boot from. Try letting the computer be on for, say, 30 seconds and then do a ctrl-amiga-amiga reset.

Failing that, you can set up the hard drive (or a new hard drive) again with the help of the UAE emulator so you won't need to find any floppies necessarily.

Mmm Ok it could be...The Amiga have been "forgotten" during 3 years !!! too bad.
So This evening I'll try your workaround.
And I'll update this thread !
Thanks a lot
