A1200+GVP Turbo+ II shuts down after several minutes
« on: July 18, 2008, 02:48:56 AM »
I put a GVP Turbo+ Series II accelerator with SCSI module in my 1200 a couple of days ago (the accelerator has 8mb ram on it, hopefully I can find simms at some point to take it to 32mb) and have been having a problem since. The system runs for a little while - maybe 15 minutes - and then shuts off in the middle of whatever I'm doing. This is all in a classic 1200 'wedge' case, so I'm thinking that I'm overheating the accelerator, given that the ambient temperature here has been pretty high.

Crashes, or literally shuts off? Sounds like a classic PSU problem.

Literally just goes dark, stops doing anything. If it's a PSU problem, that's easily solved; I have an ATX PSU and the shell of an A1200 supply here that I can rig up. I'll give it a try and let you know how it turns out. Thanks!
