3.2.2 upgraded Roms
« on: August 26, 2023, 06:18:16 PM »
Hi All, Couple of questions about 3.2.2 Rom upgrade. First if I buy the 3.2.2.1 1260 Roms
will I be able to run my PiStorm 32lite with them? Second, I'm running 3.2.1 Roms
and software. Is it so special that I should upgrade?
Appreciate the feedback.

You don't need the 1260 specific ROM with a PiStorm. It is most likely for the TF1260 and contains ehide.device.

You should use the A1200 ROM image from the 3.2.2.1 update package. Put that image in the correct place on your SD card and specify it in your PiStorm or emu68 config.

Hi, thanks so much for your response. Are you talking about the Hyperion update?
I lost my serial number to my 3.2 CD and so Hyperion refuses to help. I can’t even
get them to respond. After they told me they would help me and give me a new
serial number.
So if that is what you are talking about I’m out of luck. Which is why I ask if I really need it.
Thanks,

I see from another thread that you now have access to your serial no. again. Good news!

When you go onto the Hyperion website you should find a list of bugfixes. From what I can tell 3.2.2.1 is software only and the latest official ROM version is 3.2.2.

With the PiStorm32 it can use a different kickstart to the one you have as physical ROM chips. I have 3.2 physical chips but softkick to 3.2.2. This might help you if you are swapping between boards; it sounds like the 1260 ROMs you are asking about are modified for a specific accelerator so you could have those on your motherboard and then when you use a PiStorm32, that can override the physical ROMs by having your PiStorm boot with 3.2.2.
A1200 in DIY Tower. 3.2 ROMs (softkicking 3.2.2), OS 3.2.2 with ClassicWB, CF card, CD RW and IDE to SD adapter running off the internal IDE port (using the A4000 4-port IDE adapter from Amigakit), Pistorm 32 lite with Pi4/2GB/Emu68 or Blizzard 1230-IV, with 32MB 60ns RAM and 50MHz 68882 FPU. 3COM PCMCIA Network card running with Miami DX.
