Im coming home
« on: March 09, 2004, 11:07:19 PM »
Hi! Im Just getting back heavily into Amiga, after getting slighly disrtracted by all the glits n glamour (furr coat & no knickers) of the pc world.

I`ve unmoth balled my A1k, and Eyetech Z41200, and ordered me a nice shiny G4 A1!

Got my first migy when I was 15, Screen Gems, A500 1.3.2. after 5 years I part ex her for an a1200 with Diamond Computers in Bristol. After waiting 12months for a cd-rom to apear, like most i ended up buying a CD32 to slave it to my 1200/030 via parnet. Eventually selling them when i was 24.

I wandered amlesly for a while, then found youre sight a few months ago! Its GREAT!!!

I`ve been bitten by the BUG all over again, although some of my knoledge on migys has gone, the passion is as strong as ever....

Heres to a bright future.

Mucker (Mark)

In the end, there can be only 1....

Thanks mate, do you know what hd`s work, that fit into the edge conector of the A1000, some one once said years ago, it was the same as the a500`s. So would an A570 work? and would I still need to use the kickstart disk to initilaise things :-(

If i were u, i`d be spending money on the a1, instead of the a1000.

a1000`s are becoming rare, so they better stay original, would be a nightmare if it got broken due to upgrading or modifying.

That makes two of us  :-P

I'm also reviving my Amiga-days now, I just dusted off trusty 1200 and bought an A4000tower to play with :-D , which will hopefully arrive today. I also got my hands on a brand new original casing for my 4000 tower on ebay, so I should soon have the mintest condition 4000 tower ever :-)

Maybe I should have got an A1 like you, but nah, I can get that aswell, later, when OS4 is out.. :-D

@mucker:

Seriously  :-) In the summer holidays, our country is flooded with german backpackers and mobile caravans.

and btw, the a1000 is already a collectors item, since there are so few of them left

@morley:

Well, thank heavens that they only bring sauerkraut and beer with them, instead of machine guns this time  ;-)
