This is the first post on ann.lu! :-) It's from 28 Feb 1999, and Jason Compton say:

"VIScorp's not out of business, in case anybody's interested.  They now exist as US Digital Communications."

Ann has been here a long time, and should be a good resource for the "collector". :-)

@Wayne

Well that is gonna be a section of a.org destined to drag everybody's mood down ...

95% of all these announcements never became reality, and the other were extremely delayed ..... :-(
1. Make an announcment.
2. Wait a while.
3. Check if it can actually be done.
4. Wait for someone else to do it.
5. Start working on it while giving out hillarious progress-reports.
6. Deny that you have ever announced it
7. Blame someone else

Fleecy says: "I must admit though, AmigaSoft sounds like a Jeffism. Not only do we open ourselves up to all the crap jokes that have been aimed at Microsoft, but MS is a better acronym then AS. Let's hope they leave the marketing to McEwen, who understands these things."

Wow, this was fun! By browsing the deepest vaults of ann.lu, one suddenly starts to remember things again. :-)

Well, it's the history that took us here ...

@Kronos,

I have nothing to do with the fact that history can be depressing.  The problem I have is that there are newcomers who don't have the benefit of having lived through "our" history.  (The fact that there are those who don't even know AO's history is astounding to me) These same people are both very gullible and they're more easily able to troll for whatever cause they've chosen based on a lack of historical information.
