Is the Marlboro Cowboy back from the dead?

I think this recent pic on my avatar shows he's still alive. He didn't die from lung cancer! BTW, does anyone on this site smoke? If so, what brand?

@sumner7

I know you don't know this, but my mother died from smoking related lung cancer on December the 8th, 2003.  As such, forgive me if I seem overly sensitive to both the promotion of, and discussion of self-inflicted, slow and painful death (of both the smoker and those around them) by smoking.

@Wayne

I am sorry to hear that. And yes, you are totally right about the self inflicted, slow and painful death. Thank goodness now though that the the number of people smoking has dropped over the years, i hope that them smokers adverts put every smoker off, for their own sake. I personally would hate to be attached to an oxygen tank and using some stupid buzzer machine helping me to speak.

well,Speel, all kinds of dumb stuff can be entertaining.

that's got nothing to do with real life. my cousin - who was younger than me - smoked since she was in her teens and when she was in her mid-30's got cancer. i can't say if it was smoking-related (it wasn't obvious, like lung-cancer), but she couldn't stop smoking and was dead in 2 years.

I've never smoked, taken drugs, etc, but no matter how often you encourage people not to hurt themselves, sometimes these things are out of their control. or so it seems.

it's very complex and there are no easy answers.
it's very sad.
