The wizard is back !!!
« on: November 15, 2014, 02:23:04 AM »
Dear Friends:

I just went thru my amiga disks, and found the complete code and all files
for my 'wizard of the orb' game (wiz.lha in aminet).
The game was never finished before, so I made it into a demo with 'one' level
and one quest.
I was gonna make a sequel from scratch, but the code is so good I can pick up
the game where I left it.
Instead of making a new game, I am just going to finish the game using the
original code.
I am thinking about adding one hundred extra locations, many quests, and lots,
lots of new features. I already started working on the game tonight.

Hi!  Any tips on how to get this game running?  I extracted it to a directory on my A2000, it gave me the screen saying "pick 1 for DF0:, 2 for hard drive, 3 for path", I picked option 2, it allowed me to roll up a character but then it exited with "file not found" error.  Does it need an assign to get this running?  Interested to try it out, thanks for letting us know about it! :D

You must select 3 for path.
I never tried the game myself, but the author have answered the same question elswhere at another forum; http://www.ultimateamiga.co.uk/index.php?topic=9257.0

Hi:

Let's say the pictures is in the hd, folder folder in work drawer:
pick option 3, use a path, then enter:
work:folder/
work then : then folder/
(with the symbol / after the name of folder)
The game should then run.
the option 2 'hard drive' it only works on my personal hard drive
you have to use option 3 'path'
You can use any folder name you want to, just use path and input the right dir.
Hope this helps !!!
