Well, I had been considering buying the MorphOS system, but now that I see that Mr. Tom Morris is attached to it, I will have to rethink...

Apparently he's optional. My Pegasos came without a Tom Morris attached.  ;-)

(How interested can you be in a technology or product built and used by dozens or hundreds or thousands of people, really, if the involvement of one individual would make you change your mind?)

It worries me when the "rep" is disreputable. He took my money for an amiga 3000 over two years ago, and has never shipped it. Now he ignores my email.  I have found several others with similar stories and he appears to have left ebay ("magnetic7") with an enormous number of complaints.

Poor customer service has been the bane of all things Amiga throughout it's history, and I see him as sign things won't change with Pegasos/Morphos.

Perhaps I am bitter..

Is there another US rep?

hmm Tom does have a kind of a shakey rep.
not to say anything but... Tom claims on his web site to be in the business for 8 years but he just came to the New York a Amiga scene a few years ago. no idea where he came from.

Good news is I was talking to one of the locals at the Amiga user group and he is starting his own business with a few engineers. He makes all kind of odds and ends for his suped up Amiga. he has made stuff for software hut and mr hardware
Plus all kinds of other things and he expressed interest in selling both Pegasos and Amigaone setups. Providing Alan and Bill are willing to talk to him. These guys are not amatuers and are not going to be selling stuff from thier house on the side. This a major undertaking. Manufacturing equipment full service shop the works. Initial Test equipment purchases alone top 100grand.
So there may be hope yet. We shall see

OK, I was just having fun with that "attached" image. There are several additional companies and individuals in the US preparing to handle Pegasos/MorphOS but not yet set up. If Magnetic does have a reputation problem, now would be a good time for him to get a fresh start. I hope he takes valid complaints seriously; bad news travels fast these days.

Kurt, I suggest you have these guys contact greenboy at phinixi.com if they are interested in selling Pegasos systems. The Phoenix Resellers group is the main information channel between Genesi and the Pegasos resellers. Some members are established vendors and others are just getting into it. Most handle both Amiga and Genesi products.

we sent out the a3000 way back when.. you never recieved it? I left ebay with a 160 feeback rating.. All the ebay foolishness made me step away from it. Tough dealing with some ppl. If you did not recieve your amiga we will replace it.

I am very suprised by your remarks. "Shaky rep" eh? Just because I've only been on the NY scene for 4 years doesnt mean the other 4 havent exsisted. I expected more from you. You are saying I'm selling stuff from my "house" on the side? Dont start a war. I suppose I can go to the "Mr. Hardware" Amiga store in manhattan right? Or, I mean long island, or wherever.. you guys have a nice storefront with stuff for sale right? Wrong.. Kurt, lets keep this civil - I dont want to repeat things my customers told me about certain NY amiga dealers.. or about your Anti Bill Buck and Genesi views...
I was suprised at you Kurt. I know you are going to be speaking at Amiwest.. good luck

@magnetic

I alway's thought that I was an expert but wow
What a surprise my rep got to the west coast and stuff.
Wonder if they will be charging people to hear me speak

Kurt

Tom what are you talking about?

what war with what Amiga dealers?

I just said these new guys are setting up a shop.
leasing or buying a commercial building in Eastern Suffolk/ western Nassau county in the  Republic airport area.

never been to your shop. Never seen you at an Amiga show. I don't know where you work out of.
I only met you twice. I just been warned by other Amiga users not to deal with you.

It's like merlancia I met ryan thought he was a nice guy. People told me the same thing so I didn't deal with him who needs headaches.

I buy from randir and russ. Joe lied to me a few times so I stopped dealing with him.
Russ is real slow and sometimes forgets to order you your stuff. So you have to call him and remind him on occasion. Randir doesn't always know whats up. His prices are somewhat higher than RUSS or JOE but I have never encountered any problems with him.

RUSS if you are reading this. Wheres my Quake II order
